Oh I think it's fine. Bad production but who cares. Paula always looks pretty. Mac and Bernsie have good thoughts. They have the same thoughts I had after this game. So it's good.

Mac and Bernsie are edging out Hampton. That's good. Hamp doesn't need to talk much.

Yeah they're talking fine, and she's nice to look at, but its still bad production. This is wrose than the high school shit that made the sports segment out in Bozeman.

The Dan's hit it johnny on the spot ... nice job ... Fan Den must GO; demeans the show entirely! Find another way to get the fans involved ...may want to find another camera guy too, he's having "technical difficulties :? "

Bernsie just had the "this is almost over, right?" look on his face there, hilarious.

Mac looks very uncomfortable on TV. The FF guy was more at ease and natural than he was.

They'll clean it up.

- We don't need the fans.

- We don't need the new channel 5 black guy.

- Just leave it to Paula and the pannel.

- She can intro the canned stuff and go to the Bears interviews.

- It's just too busy.

I learned that Chris Williams can jog while watching that segment - you could see him in the background.

To add to Beardown's fixes:

-Get rid of her chatting with fans on that laptop.

-If you're going to keep that new guy around, maybe have him and Hampton on a side set or something. They look too crammed into that set, and have them with their own segment.

The entire format blows, and Paula couldn't lead her way out of a paper bag, much less a round table discussion. This was a complete waste of time.

Let's face it ...Hamp knows football and could probably talk your ear off if you let him, however he listens more when baseball is being talked about. It's almost like any one of us trying to talk about hair, some of us might know it, some of us just listen to those who do

Yeah. Have Paula talk to weirdos after the show. Why is she doing it during the show?

Very sloppy. Good insight from Bernsie and Mac, but thats about it as far as the positives go. If NBC is going to be touting this show highly at all, and/or they are going to be using it to promote B&B and MJH, it needs to be polished up bigtime.

Reason, camera wasn't working. I apologeye.

Mac should ditch the suit and go with the 'painted on smile'. Then he wouldn't look so uncomfortable.

Wow. I was part of history. It was "Wayne's World" on Chicago's NBC affiliate. Amazing. That was one of the most interesting experiences in my broadcast life. Just watched it. I met my goal, which was merely don't do an Albert Brooks in "Broadcast News."

I give myself a 'C'. Didn't show enough emotion. Didn't smile enough, although I do loathe the fake smile on TV. Could have been much funnier and much more animated. Thumbs up for my wardrobe choice. Have to give Sheri credit for that. Barring the Mark McGwire pock or two on the left side of my neck, I looked damn good.

Hampton is decent on camera and is beloved by Bears fans for what he did as a player. I am among his fans. Didn't notice it when I was on but it looked like Hamp almost fell asleep after we did baseball highlights. Wonder how that will play out 10-noon on the Score in October. Larry Diamond Notes, I guess.

Bernsie was okay. Comfortable enough. He helped me to relax a bit because he really didn't care all that much. He was a bit verbose, but he is Dan Bernstein.

If I looked uncomfortable, it was because I felt sorry for the production people who have to sit down and go over this with the bosses. I hope sales is happy with the Ford Fan Den, because it is most embarrassing to the programming department and, come to think of it, to the City of Chicago.

Having said all that, I think I might be up for more.

Mac, thanks for continuing to be honest. The Den was horrible. One guy was yawning. I am pretty sure either one of the women or guys in the back row was playing with the hair of the guy in front of them (wasnt sure if that was onair or during break).

The chat room was horrible as well. To sum it up, twenty people (10 of them may have all been gridiron) asking Paula to marry or have sex with them and the other twenty spouting random crap. The rest were making fun of bernsie and hampton. Then there is Paula likely reading these messages and probably thinking to herself what the hell am I doing here.

I think they're just trying to prove how "interactive" it is, but when Paula tells them it's just a bunch of idiots and perverts interacting with them and there's no meaningful input, maybe they'll stop doing it on the show. I think they'd be better off selecting a couple e-mails and having the guys giving a brief comment on each one.

I was under the impression the lot of you were going to do this for the duration of the football season. Are they going to have rotating hosts each week or only do it when the Bears play on a Sunday or Monday night?

Production wise it was a trainwreck and the fan deck was a step below when they used to pick people for Bozo buckets and the camera and the arrows flew accross the T.V on the morons in the crowd. The stupidest thing since the pogo stick.

I thought the 3 Dan's were ok and if Jiggs was hosting it would of been a bad version Chicago tribune live.

I still say Fox does an awesome job with Waddle and Mcferrin and the production and tempo of their show is the best in the city.

Paula is a hottie but I have never liked women hosting my sports shows.

I can see it now. A little Hoffy crapping out on bucket # 3 and later he's found in Wizzo's dressing room with his pants around his ankles with a grown man in make up and a turbin and goofy looking shoes. Kind of like you're avatar.

I thought it was quite clear that Bernstein and Mac didn't care for each other.

Funny but true story, before meeting the wifey I had a brief one night date with what turned out to be Wizzo's niece.

Last night I thought it was a disasterous joke.

I don't think so today.

It was DELICIOUSLY AWFUL.

I want more!

Bernsie and Mac did fine too btw. I got a kick out of how the chatters bashed them as 'negative sportsradio know-it-alls'.

I'd rather listen to 'REALISTIC' sports radio know-it-alls, vs. a guy that can't read off a teleprompter or some windbag former athlete.

Keep this in mind, ONE columnist picked the Bears to have a .500 record this year: Vaughn McClure - NOBODY else did. So I guess all the columnists are negative know-it-alls too.

I'm gonna take the season as it is rolled out to us, one game at a time.

But this NBC5 thing has legs. Another Larry Wert creation. HOW COOL IS THAT?!?!?!?

Agree with the new guy. Dude was horrible. Loved him not knowing Cedeno's name.

Yeah, Bernsie and Mac (and Hampton during the football talk) did fine. Probably because they were the only ones prepared to talk. Faris and that other dude (forgot his name) were clueless as to the cameras to look into, and the order of the show.

Also, that guy seems to know jack and shit about sports. Said the Sox were off today, called Ronny Cedeno "sen-dino" at least twice, and was all over Jermaine Dye for catching that foul in the 8th yesterday. Why in the world would that idiot want to willingly give a team like the Angels an extra out with the bases loaded late in the game? Sox mustered 2 solo HRs yesterday, thats why they lost. Not because Dye caught a foul ball that a runner tagged on. Wasserman came into the game with runners on 2nd and 3rd, 0 out. He allowed 1 run. I'll take that 8 days a week. So yeah, big thumbs down to that guy for pretty much everything he did on that show last nite.

Mac, what did you mumble to Bernsie when he dropped Boers name? Seeing as this isn't "your show" so to speak, will you and/or Bernsie have any say or input as far as fixing the half assed production work done on that show? That needs to be taken care of pronto. If somebody hasnt heard your guys' radio shows and thats the first they have seen/heard of you (or Bernsie), they may just assume both your respective radio shows are also just as unorganized and unprofessional. Suffice it to say that us here know that the shows are not like that (especially MJH), but just being associated with mess is not very good PR. Hopefully they work out the kinks for next time.
