Its because he never walks anyone. Which is normally great for a reliever but Hendriks has taken it to an extreme where batters know the fastball is coming, they know its going to be in the zone, so they just load up and look to the fences. Hendriks does not throw Kopech's nastiness, if he just dares guys to hit it they're gonna nail it.

Just need a change in approach. Throw it less in the zone. If that means a walk or two oh well, so be it.

Well that's a silly thing to say. They do this from time to time like all ballclubs do. Abreu has just disappeared this series and their offense has disappeared with it. If him and Anderson are both slumping the Sox completely stall out, and that's what you are seeing.

They need middle relief help. They need it so fucking badly it kills me that they haven't made a move yet. I don't know what they are waiting for.

They are a .500 team since the 1st series with Houston(17-17). 1 -3 in series against good teams.

We'd be up shit creek without Baltimore and the Twinkles(10-4).

I do think they are trying to make a real splash at the deadline. Adam Frazier? Eduardo Escobar? I'm telling you they don't move the needle much for you team. There is a reason it cost basically nothing for the Padres and Brewers to acquire them. But you get Trevor Story playing his best ball? Or someone like Trea Turner? That some real stuff.

So I'll withhold judgment until this is over because I'm honestly very happy those two are gone now. They were just half measures at best.

There isn't a single middle relief guy I trust right now (I don't consider Kopech middle relief). I think they waited too long in this market because they could have used a couple of guys.

All of the talk about the iffy bullpen and a closer who gives up too many long balls....I agree 100%. But that isn't the biggest problem with these recent losses.

Since last Wednesday, the offense has scored 2, 1, 1, 3 (Lynn's 2 two run single), 3, 5 (Eloy's three run bomb), and 2 runs. The closer should be able to protect a one run lead, but it would be nice to see the offense warm up.
