He was on the day after the NBA Finals creeping, in a way that is so distinct to Sir, on one of the women from the broadcast that he knows

I haven't heard Laurence on Sunday morning for at least a month. Carl "Put 'Em Up" Dukes has been on. I thought there was a separate thread in this section about his national show, but maybe it was mentioned earlier in this thread and I mistakenly thought there was a separate thread.

Anyway, here's an article about the Sunday national show:

https://barrettsportsmedia.com/2021/06/ ... rts-radio/

Quote:
Congratulations are in order for Carl Dukes of 92.9 the Game. The Atlanta host will now be heard across the country on CBS Sports Radio. He will be on Sunday mornings from 6 until 10.

The Sunday morning slot has been at the center of plenty of turnover for the network. John Kincade held the spot until earlier this year when he announced he was joining 97.5 the Fanatic in Philadelphia. 670 the Score’s Laurence Holmes then took over. Last month on his House of L podcast, Holmes announced that it was a schedule he could not keep up and he stepped away.

Dukes began teasing his announcement on Thursday. He posted on Twitter that something big was coming. He revealed the news of his new opportunity on Friday’s edition of Dukes and Bell.

Carl Dukes is used to success in the radio world. He has won multiple awards. He has been on stage sharing his thoughts and opinions on the state of the industry at past BSM Summits. He and partner Mike Bell even have a beer named after their show. Still, national syndication was one goal that had been elusive, until this weekend.

Yeah that 2 hours a day of playing clips from other shows must be too much for him.

Sir ain't giving up his Saturday nights to cover Sunday morning radio.

It just shows you what a joke these national radio broadcasters are, except for maybe greenberg. No one in any significant market is listening to that stuff.

You make a good point. Through the years I've heard Larry talk about his vacations. And he always goes solo. Recently he talked about going to Detroit to see the Tigers and SOX - by himself. Then I've heard him talk about taking solo trips to Arizona. Where he talks about having dinners with Steve Stone (that makes sense to me).

I find that odd that vacation trips aren't spent with his wife.

Then again, I don't with him. Like I've said, I think it's a fake wife.

He did the marriage thing to have an image and have his mom be happy that he's got a girl. So the relatives would stop asking.

That being said, I always think to myself, who are you fooling when you constantly tell your parents you're going on a trips and outings without your wife?

Here's what I think about these three guys - Stone, Thayer and Larry. They should stop pretending and have a 3 way marriage. It's 2021. C'mon. It's cool to come out now a days.

In fact, I think it's more cool now a days to be gay. I think heterosexuals are now hated. The whole penis in the vagina is no longer excepted. We're frowned upon.

If Larry, Thayer and Stone would admit being gay, they'd be heroes. Everybody loves gays now. Man on man ass sex is awesome now.

It also guarantees job security. Because, in these times, you can't fire a gay guy who admits he's gay. Regardless of the ratings. That's just our times. That company would be called homophobic.

Not that Stone or Thayer have to admit to it for their jobs. Stone is old and can retire whenever he wants. He's made enough. Thayer the same.

But Larry could use the admission to guarantee job security.

The other day Larry mentioned how Mitch was begging him to take some of his vacation days. Seems like he's following in the Bernstein tradition of never taking a day off for fear they will find someone better.

This fucker made me turn off the radio again yesterday. I didn't even make it past transition. I clicked him off when he was doing his attempt at a deep sexy HD radio voice. Nope! Not happening Larry.

The other day Larry was talking with one of the producers about their beer league softball and had to interject the reason he got to playing short stop was because he “looked the part”

Thought that was very delusional and humble brag

He’s built similarly to the current version of Ozzie Guillen.

Larry is in love with himself. Nobody loves Larry more than Larry.

I think that's the trait of gay guys. More so than us lowly straights.
