Btw i'm sure its total coincidence that all of a sudden the bears are miving the ball with fields out there, getting more space for RBs to run, and thus eat up time to rest the defense more to go out thete and do better.

Its third stringers now! You could ruin the kid!

My only hope is that nagy didnt wanna over pressure the kid in the preseason like its you kid dont fuck up so then if he struggled its like oh shit. Then.if hes formally not #1 and outplays dalton you can start him from week 1 like he earned it, so there was technically no pressure on him to come out and be THE MAN or else... if he had troubles so what hes the backup? If he did good we can be like great job kid you took the #1 job from mediocre at best dalton and start the season on an extra positive note

Thats what im.hoping for: a psychological win/win for fields and nagy.... but i'm afraid he might be stubborn enough to start dalton week 1 (cuz he said so months ago) and with our tough schedule we could easily be 1-3 before fields comes in and now he has that pressure to be savior. Or an even worse case scenario is you wanna avoid making him save the season (read: you have job security for next year) and you want til 2-5 or 3-7 to bring him.on so mo savior needed. Just do your thing and develop.

Hopefully nagy and pace's seats have heated up.enough to avoid this.

But its gotta be obvious to more than me that fields is way way better than dalton even right now Look at that nice high throw for 23 there.

Pace isn't going anywhere. If anything, he'll throw Nagy under the bus. The Fields pick is a reset for Pace. Rarely, if ever, does an NFL GM get two shots at drafting the potential franchise QB. But this is the Bears

Why is he even still on the field? Get Foles in there before he gets destroyed.

Is it just me or does this team look like it has more energy and pep in it's step (both sides of the ball) when fields gets in?

I also notice that we're running the ball better as the game goes on. Maybe it's cuz fields is a running + running and throwing threat they're afraid to sell out for the run because he can burn them with little 5-8yd dumpoff passes over the line?

Game is over. He already took a massive shot and now landed weird on his hip. Let Foles be the punching bag for the rest of the game.

I get the idea but realistically I wanna see fields get 1 more possession and do some positive stuff today. If you reset the score at 0-0 when fields comes in it's 9-7 bears, so in a sense fields is winning the mini-game he's playing on the field. It'd be cool if the coaches thought this way so if buffalo somehow ends up with a FG fields gets a 2min drill to try and go downfiekd and "win" the game with another FG as opposed to lol 41-16 endzone or broke.

Honestly 2min drills focusing on situations where you only need a FG to tie/win are something to work on too.

"If you reset the score" LOL There's a bunch of scrubs on the field. None of this matters

Big picture / formally? Yeah no doubt.

But with our new QB you wanna see the little situational things like how he reacts to pressure, how he makes reads, how he, example, thinks on a 4th and 8 in their 40 like Dalton's INT earlier

In that 4th and 8 the play called didn't work. Nobody was really open. Part of me thinks since they're getting the balls at the LOS if you fail why not try forcing one deep?

Then I thought more and realized if you air out an INT that might give the DB more room to glbuild up.momentuk.+ speed running, catch a block or two ball, and get the ball to them well/beyond the original LOS.

so all in all I think his idea to try forcing a tight bailout pass into a WR ~5/8yds downfield right in the sideline is a good call cuz at that point best case scenario is moving their takeover point 5yds back. Worst case INT? DB is right at the sidelines and easily taken down it OOB by intended receiver.

These are the little things I look for in the preseason. What is fields' thought process when a crappy 4th down playcall fails and you're running from 3/+ guys towards the sidelines 5yds behind the LOS? I think.he made a wise choice that tried to minimize the potential negatives and do whatever he could to get a few more yards cuz they eventually all add up.

Fields isn't ready to run the team yet and offensively, I think this looks like a 4 or 5 win team.

Two weeks ago I said this was a 4 win team and bumped it up to 5 because there will be a fluke win or two, but that really is the ceiling.

Robinson's presence has nothing to do with a porous secondary and an abysmal offensive line. This team is a disaster and it should cost someone a job.

Were you 100% ready the first moment you found out you were a father? Maybe a bad analogy cuz everyone knows you've posted the W2s to show that you got your shit together, but right now I feel like he has more raw skills and fundamental instincts than Dalton plus the team (scrubs or otherwise) seems to come out and play like a different team when he's out there.

If Mitch had won us a playoff game or 2 and re-signed for 1-2yrs and was here then yeah the mahomes way could be way more palatable. Instead we're faced with having a backup QB in dalton who proved last year he can't do what Mitch did today and game manage to consistent victory, even in an offense way better than the bears you have an overpriced 3rd string QB in foles who got found out after the league got tapes of 2-3 weeks in this offense and once that happened your run game vanished cuz they knew foles couldn't beat you.... And then you have the kid.

Jacksonville is going with Trevor Lawrence. The jets are going with Wilson. 49ers prolly sit on.lsmce a bit too jimmy g gets hurt (great excuse to start the Trey Lance era) and the Patriots might go mwc in game 1 or give cam.newton a leash so short he manages to wear it fashionably in one of his extravagant postgake interview outfits.

Look at dak.or Russell Wilson or the chargers kid or deshaun or others who had the college pedigree came in to camp proved they were that dude and immediately got to work.... Why not fields? Considering you're franchise tagging a-ron + the defense (coaching playcalling and players) is declining pretty fast, so your realistic window might be this year before you gotta reload or rebuild and then it's like...man. are we watching the same games?

Justin Fields gives the bears the best chance to win right now. Period new paragraph </grobber> so what's the big downside?

Shit didn't Lamar start early too?
