I think health may be of concern here for any QB on this team. Even in pre season Fields has to buy time with his feet on almost every snap just to make something happen. This will result in him gassing at some point during games leaving him vulnerable in addition to his already being willing to take off running to make plays.



This is not an ideal situation for development

Btw, did anyone else catch when the broadcast was talking about how it’s on Fields to learn more than it is for them to teach? Nagy has no idea what he’s doing

Yeah I thought that was kind of weird. I somewhat get the point - you’d rather a guy seek out advice than learn passively - but Miller made it sound like the coaches expected Fields to come to them.

Which is about what I’d expect with this group of slapdicks.

These coached have lost me. I would typically watch a post-game news conference, but didn’t even seek it out. I know Nagy wont say anything interesting, and he can’t scheme an offense to do anything other than 3 and outs.

This is the least excited I’ve been about a Bears season since the Trestman era.

For the record, thinking about it and understanding I’ve made many predictions here that have been strangely accurate, I don’t think he will actually be murdered or die in any unnatural way.

I also do not predict he will be injured to a degree that he will not be able to recover and live a somewhat normal life.

We will likely see something similar to Foles last year, with a lot of business decisions being made to dump the ball quickly because Dalton knows Nagy's play call has no chance in hell of working because there is no way in hell the LT or RT can hold a block long enough for the play to develop. Tons of quick 3 and outs which will put pressure on what seems to be a disinterested defense full of guys that are making business decisions not to tackle.

The wheels could come off pretty quickly unless they put Fields in who looks to be able to get 5-10 yards every time he breaks the pocket. That of course will likely get Fields killed eventually, but Fields looks to be the only QB with enough athletic ability to overcome Nagy's shortcomings.

I think the only thing more dangerous to Dalton than D-Lines are Bears fans who want to see Fields play. He's going to get Nancy Kerrigan'ed at the local Chipolte or something.
