Cool that one of them drained a non-gimme for the win.

That was awesome!

Bryson's caddie quit, after apparently being on the bag for practice rounds and the pro-am this week. That's a lot of money to walk away from.

Bryson is a lot to deal with. Not the first time this guy has walked away from him. Imagine it’s literally a full time job. Guy hits balls for hours after his round often.

Vijay had the same rep back in the day .

I don't think Vijay had near the mental prep and math work that Bryson does. For whatever reason, I think he would have been easier to deal with than Bryson.

Vijay would be at the course for 12 plus hours a day, it was ridiculous.

Saw this scroll along the bottom of the TV last night.....

BUENOS AIRES -- Argentinian golfer Angel Cabrera, a former Masters and U.S. Open champion, was sentenced Wednesday to two years in prison on charges he assaulted his former partner.

A court in the province of Cordoba, 500 miles northwest of Buenos Aires, convicted the 51-year-old of assaulting, threatening and harassing Cecilia Torres Mana, his partner between 2016 and 2018.

Cabrera, who denied in the trial any wrongdoing, will serve his sentence immediately.

An Argentinian prison is a long way from Augusta, where he could be in April.

Rahm popped for Covid again, so now he has to miss the Olympics.

I dont get that at all.

Hes had Covid within the past 2 months right? Plus he's vaccinated.

Why should he have to miss the Olynpics?

Earlier this morning I think it took Bo Hoag almost a full 2 minutes to line up and hit a 170-yard shot, even the announcers had to remark that "we can classify him as a 'deliberate player'". I will now delight when he is dispatched back to the Korn Ferry Tour. He's also playing with Wolff, who is in the midst of an epic implosion, so this could get interesting.

I don't know, its Japan. There are like 11 fans at these events and I think they are mostly diplomats, friends, or family members of the athletes.

I'm halfway glad I got to watch Harris English and Bryson piss away their respective chances to win today. It's good to see slow play punished in some way since the PGA Tour refuses to do it.

I hate Bryson with a passion typically reserved for Americans who say ‘cheers.’

I wouldn’t put the blame on English for the slow play issue. He said as much without saying it after the round.

yeah, it wasn't his fault they were put on the clock. At some point the tour will have to single out players, not the grouping.

That was something, the final pair went out in 66, back in in 81. Oof! Lucky the one guy was even still there to play in the playoff.

Just now reading his comments and I dunno, it seems like her could just as easily be lamenting being put on the clock at all as the final group on a Sunday, as he seemed to be perfectly time taking a lot of time for himself out on the course.

English isn't quick, but he's far from being one of the slower guys out there like Bryson or JB Holmes.

:( :(

Quote:
Hall of Fame golfer Gary Player’s wife, Vivienne, died on Wednesday of pancreatic cancer, he announced on Twitter.

The two were married for 64 years.

“My wife of 64 years, my childhood sweetheart, my rock, and my soulmate Vivienne has lost her battle with pancreatic cancer,” he said in a statement, in part. “I cannot describe the deep sense of sadness I feel at having lost the one person who has always meant the world to me.

“Vivienne has been a constant in my life from the moment I first set eyes on her when I was 14.”

I am planning on trying to catch at least the back half of the Northern Trust this afternoon. Conditions will be soft and scoring could be low. I'd say anyone within 4-5 of the current lead could have a chance if they go crazy with a low 60s score. It appears tee times have been pushed back 3 hours due to Henri moving out and probably getting the course ready.

Solid finish to the tournament. Happy for Finau and that very well could solidify his spot on the Ryder Cup team. No just don’t trust him in pressure situations, especially on the greens.

He moved to 6th in the standings, which would automatically qualify him. I think it is safe to say, he is on the team no matter.

cam smith fell apart on the tee on that playoff after watching finau's perfect drive. but he has a great mullet, that can't be discounted.

Not the first time he has done that either, but correct, the mullet is glorious.

I think he is on but he could still fall out of the automatic qualifying the next few weeks. I like his game when he is on, just makes me nervous on the greens.

I will likely watch some of the BMW today. I really get annoyed when they take the BMW out of the Midwest, although I am interested in seeing this new course in the rotation. When they eliminate any PGA championships from the upper Midwest and also take the BMW I think they are doing a disservice to this area. The 3M and the John Deere don't really cut it for all the great golf courses and fans we have in this area. Thankful we have the Ryder Cup.

Amazing how since they killed the Western that they have pretty much screwed over the 3rd largest market. Then again, it seemed like it was a struggle to get a title sponsor every year toward the end, but there is no other reason the Chicago area shouldn’t have a regular Tour event.
