90-100k fans would be a nightmare. You'd be lucky to see a single shot.

Yeah it sounds high to me. I have practice round tickets for Tuesday. Ryder Cup is a tv event for me much like The Masters.

Dan Needles on WISN channel 12.

https://golfweek.usatoday.com/2021/01/2 ... aits-fans/

In the article I guess they are calling that full attendance but it sure seems low when you figure how many attend events like the Waste Management. 2016 Ryder Cup in MN was 50k a day. My bad.

Bumping this since it will be here in just a few weeks. I got my tickets last week and will be on the grounds 2 weeks from today. Stricker's wildcards will come out tomorrow. I think most of them are clear but from the sounds of it at least one is still a mystery.

https://www.golfdigest.com/story/ryder- ... iel-berger

Not sure if Berger would be a good pick or not, although he played well this past week. I know Kevin Na would really like to make it but may not have the length to take on Whistling Straits.
I'd personally like to see Scottie Scheffler make it.

Was up there yesterday and a pretty fun experience overall. I really wanted to walk the property with my wife and got to do that. We did the back nine first, came back and watched some guys on
the range and putting green and then saw the first group of Americans go off the 1st tee. Finau hit it right next to us off the tee on 2 so he was 15 feet away or so. Ended up camping out on #6 in
the bleachers and watched a few groups come through. After that we went back to the merch tent and laid siege to that for 40 minutes. Out of there by 1:30. Had to get home to pick my dog up
from the kennel and just wanted to get home honestly. I can't imagine trying to do that event in person during actual rounds. Really hard to see anything. Saw a couple people fall down but I don't
think there were any serious injuries between the two. Looking forward to the TV coverage

Just snagged a vest off the merch website... 2xl is running low. Hope it's long enough.

you couldn't pay me to go to another Ryder Cup. Total waste of time being there in person unless you don't care about golf.

I wouldn't want to be there once the competition kicks off, but glad I went up yesterday.

It's cool if you score a ticket that includes access to a big sponsor's corporate tent. Big screen TVs, free food and booze, etc.

I did that at Medinah. Was in the Comcast tent on #18. Total waste of time. I'd rather lay on my couch and pay for food and drink than drive an hour, park a mile away and deal with crowds to go stand in a tent and get a free hot dog and still not be able to see any of the actual live golf.

Must been a shitty tent.

At the BMW at Conway, there were raised "tents" with windows and decks you could look down on the golfers. That was pretty cool.

But yeah...going to a golf tournament is even worse than going to an NFL game.

and going to the Ryder Cup is much worse than going to any PGA event due to the smaller number of golfers and holes in play combined with massive numbers of fans trying to get a look.

Glad you got on the grounds Hawg and Tbone. Enjoyed seeing your pictures. Thought I'm not sure who that giant, strapping lad was next to Hawger.

So we know for sure 3 pairings for the Americans tomorrow morning:
Thomas/Spieth
DJ/Morikawa
Schauffele/Cantlay

Interesting on who is the 4th, my guess is Koepka/Berger

Yikes. Gorgeous setting; getting to/getting out of the parking lot was a logistical nightmare. Like others have said, there’s almost nothing to do. There are so many so people and so little action, best you can hope for is seeing a shot or two and then either waiting for the next group or moving a few holes up to get ahead of the action.

I ended up mostly just watching the tv in the tent. And that was for a practice around - can’t imagine what it’ll be like the next few days.

We get in on Wednesday shockingly quick. We got there around 8:30. Getting out was definitely worse but overall I didn't think that bad.

Same. Got there Tuesday at 7:45 and left at 1:30 and was super easy but I would say most of that was because of the timing. Seemed like a pretty smooth system overall although some of the
rows were pretty tight depending on vehicle length

That heart rate monitor on Poulter was a cool little addition to the broadcast.

Not sure who is playing worse. Spieth and JT, or Rory and Poulter. A little shocking to say the least.

The team of Cantlay and Schauffele could be a force for a long time.

3-1 is a nice start for the Americans. Need to go at least 2-2 in the afternoon, ideally go 3-1 again.
