All kinds of stuff popping up on my Bears news feeds about Matt Nagy being the most likely coach to be fired or the coach that is on the hot seat. Numerous articles ranking the Bears in the bottom third of the league.

Then I listen to certain local "Bears experts" all I hear that Pace/Nagy are not going anywhere and that the team will compete for the playoffs. What do the local people know that the rest of the world does not? Are the McKaskey's that out of touch with the rest of the football world? Hubert Arkush even said, and this is a goofy take for even Hub, "The Bears have found two booked tackles for the next 10 years", pretty optimistic take considering neither guy has played a down of NFL football and one of them has a potentially career threatening back issue.

Makes sense if, like me, you think Hub is a complete idiot.

The national media is mostly trash outside of a few people who have great sources. Nothing but shitty click bait pieces.

I've heard some national guys talk about Nagy being the first coach fired. Bill Simmons dumb ass self was even bragging about betting on it at +700 or whatever. It's clear they have no idea how the Bears operate. Even if the Bears started 0-10 I doubt Nagy would be launched in season.

This is exactly why I walked away from the Bears in '87. A family far more interested in riding the gravy train than operating a legitimate pro franchise.

But yeah you're right. The national media never seems to understand how the McCaskey family operates.

In fairness, I have no idea how the McCaskeys operate. I’ve always assumed they’re more in over their heads than they are ruthless penny-pinchers.

I just think they have no clue what they’re doing and having descended from George Halas doesn’t exactly prepare you to run a modern NFL franchise.

They have a less biased opinion about the teams likely results but clearly are out of town stupid about the teams management and ownership.

I don't know about the McClaskeys - they're not the ones selecting all these busts on offense, or mortgaging the future for some prick sophomore who barely made starting QB for a basketball school.

Perhaps. But when the franchise was being run by Mike McCaskey, the accountantTed Phillips and money hungry Ditka, money was the paramount concern.

Should the Bears have launched Ditka in the middle of an 11 win season?

Bayou Reader putting his feet into Bears business. Isn't there a flooded stadium that needs cleaning?

No, but they should seen the readily apparent trouble brewing with the egomaniac most interested in other outlets of profit and hired a real general manager to sit on him.

The Superdome didn't suffer much damage, it's the city's power lines and services outside of the CBD and Quarter that are the problem.

There was no one who could have controlled Ditka in Chicago outside of George Halas and he was already dead.

Isn't that supposed to be repaired by next week?

I was thinking the same thing right before I pressed submit.

Asked by the guy whose team had a guy setting fires in the stadium that doesn't have a (good) field right now.

And as for the Dome, I heard that it's been ready all week.

The only way that Nagy gets fired in season is if they are in 4th place in the NFC North on Thanksgiving Day and then promptly get humiliated by the lowly Lions, with the McCaskey family in attendance and shown on the monitors every couple of Lions' scores.

And even then, Pace is more likely to be fired after that than Nagy.

Maybe Nas is just referring to the bathrooms.
