As usual I don't understand your point. You're saying Kenny is dumb because he wanted to hire Cito Gaston? The same guy who won 2 World Series and who took over a last place team this season that was 35-41 and is now 79-68 and making things very difficult for the rest of the AL?? Yeah, what a dumbass.
Has nothing to do with Cito being Good or not.
Cito is who Kenny wanted. Kenny did not want Ozzie! Frank just does not like hearing that FACT. Kenny was forced to interview Ozzie. When I say "Interview" it was a "get used to this guy because unless you can't stand him, he is your next manager" meeting.
Take a look at how Reinsdorf just handled the hiring of the latest Bulls coach. He basically handled the interviews and then told his GM who he wanted. I am not sure why it is so hard to believe that he did the exact same thing with Ozzie. Especially considering when Kenny was named GM, Reinsodrf even admitted to forming a "White Sox executive committee" of Himself, Shuler, Hemond and Dennis Gilbertson to help Kenny.
All I am saying is that Kenny defenders give him credit for a number of things like hiring Ozzie, which was not his idea and he was even oppossed to it.
Could Kenny have put his foot down and not hired Ozzie. Yes, he could have, but he better have had a MUCH better alternative. yes, Cito Gaston may have been a good alternative at the time, but Cito was not interested, so Ozzie was hired.
Somehow this then gets translated into taking a shot at Reinsdorf? Which Frank, or any other of Sox nation can feel free to explain to me how this is a shot at Resindorf? as I think it only displays his experience as an owner and hiring coaches. Jerry maintained his relationships with ex managers like Torborg and looked into Ozzie's capability to do the job.
