I appreciate the trolling angle but Goff could’ve done this. Stafford isn’t that good.

Like I said, if he starts 15 -17 games he's gonna toss 40 plus TD and 5k yards. Guy is good.

Stafford would be the best Bears QB of all time, and it wouldn’t be close.

means next to nothing if he doesn't post a playoff W, something Stafford hasn't done in his first 12 seasons in the league

he'd be the best qb in a lot of teams history

His stats are pretty good.

He's the kind of guy though, if you are a sophisticated observer, you know the stats aren't an accurate representation of him as a player.

Yeah, FF gets pretty irrational when it comes to Stafford and Winston. Sort of like I do when it comes to YouTube sensation Kyrie Irving.

I have never seen two WR more open on deep plays than Jefferson and Kupp. Easy throws that accounted for at least 1/3 of his production

 Ok man. I've watched Stafford play for a decade now. Good luck thinking he's gonna take the Rams to the promised land.

If you watched him play for a decade then you have to admit he's better than Goff. Let's start there?

He is marginally better than Jared Goff, who also didn't look too bad yesterday against a good defense. He's not enough of an upgrade to justify 2 1st round picks, and the Rams aren't going to be winning any Super Bowls with him.

Scored on every possession they had..except when they took a knee.

He seems to be just a guy, as with FF we've seen Stafford 20+ times now to be familiar enough with him. On the other hand, he has to be at least somewhat good to put up the numbers he has while playing all but one game for the Lions.

Stafford had Megatron first 7 seasons. Probably a lot of QB's would put up Stafford stats if they have a guy the defense knows they're throwing to 12 times a game and it doesn't matter cuz the receiver's
too strong and fast for the defense to stop. e.g., Stafford threw for 4,900 yards in 2012 -- 2000 of those yards were completions to Calvin Johnson.

So is everyone that's ever played for the Detroit Lions.

If he was as good as you're pretending he is the franchise doesn't matter. He would have elevated them. Especially since he played with one of the best WRs in history for most his time there.

Stafford isn't going to transform a team from nothing into a contender overnight, not like Manning or Brady could.

But I do think he can go to a good team like the Rams, with pieces already in place, and elevate them to places they haven't been before. I guess in the Rams' case that means a SB win since they already went to the SB with Goff.

I'm fine with saying that Stafford is good enough to get a 10-6 like the Rams back to the playoffs and beat teams they couldn't overcome with Goff.

Well, like you said, they have to win the Super Bowl. Anything less and this trade was basically a lateral move that cost two 1st round picks.

Probably not an entire 1st round pick, but taking Goff and his contract back probably accounts for some part of the picks the Rams sent the Lions. Although rumors speculated that McVay really wanted Goff exiled and was wiling to pay to send him packing. So maybe it was a 1st and 3rd for Stafford and another 1st round to take Goff off their hands and punish Goff by making him play for the Lions.
