It would be nice if they had some top-100 defensive backs. Instead they have Nick Foles on the bench.

The secondary holes hurt when Mack, Quinn and Jackson continue robbing the Bears every week

Have to have a pass rush with this horseshit secondary. So far, hasn't happened.

We know you hate Asians, but no one was worse than Mel Tucker.

Need the scooby doo meme of ripping off Desai’s mask and it’s Mel Tucker

I’m not impressed so far but no one else of worth was going to come here and take the DC job with a potential lame duck coach/GM combo

But yeah, he’s most likely not going to be a DC ever again after his days here are over. This defense looks flat, unprepared, and uninspired

When Al Michaels said Desai had “multiple degrees,” it sounded like a dig.

Yeah. The defense lost this game.

The offense was actually pretty decent. Controlled the ball. Ran it well. Pretty decent offensive line play considering the injuries. Especially run blocking. Especially considering they were playing a great defense. Crossed the 50 yard line in the first 7 drives. I think we had like 24 first downs. But the secondary gave up 3 HUGE pass plays. And we were always playing from behind.

Sure, the offense fucked up in the red zone. Missed on two 4th downs at the 40 yard line. They weren't great. But it was a winnable game if the defense didn't have a lot of bad tackling and miss coverages.

So I put this loss more on the defense.

Rarely see guys running free once in a game, but it happened several times which all gets back to poor coaching. Heard from the DB's how much they loved Desai and that they would be disguising coverages, well the only people fooled by the coverage was the DB's themselves, remember one play where Roquan Smith started barking at the DB's after they let the TE run free.

Desai was the fourth or fifth pick for the job after numerous guys turned it down. I thought that was odd because Nagy pretty much lets the DC have free reign, so even if Nagy gets launched a guy that would run the D well would at least have a good shot to run a D elsewhere. It seems the guys that were in the building that turned down the job knew there were holes all over on D and wanted no part of trying to coach overpaid guys like Quinn, Mack, Jackson, and Hicks who are looking to pad stats rather than play team oriented defense. The Rams attacked Quinn frequently, they knew he would blindly come up field in search of sacks and lose outside contain, but he's done that ever sense he's been here.

I heard a clip of Nagy talking about Desai from last night's press conference: "He's great on the headset. Very calm."

That sounds like something Bernstein would say.

YouTube a 2018 Bears game. That's the only way you're going to see any semblance of a Fangio defense this year.

And Jimmy Graham and his 15 total snaps on offense

I thought Vildor and Johnson looked pretty decent. Not perfect, but the Rams were doing their damage all over the middle.

Give up one deep ball, meh...

Leave guys wide open all game and consistently getting beat deep...that's inexcusable.

On top of zero tackles for loss, one sack, -2 in turnovers.

Beyond awful.

That sounds like something Bernstein would say.

Idiots like Bernstein are always going on about how ‘shouting and being passionate’ don’t mean anything. Well, being ‘calm’ doesn’t mean shit either. Knowing what the fuck you’re doing in the 1st place is all that counts -shouting, calm, using telepathy.. whatever- just know what the fuck you’re doing.

^Nagy brought this dumb crap up during the preseason too. Sounds like he’s fishing to give the guy a compliment because there isn’t anything else to point at directly that he’s good at.

Desai comes across early like a guy that’s in way over his head and has at least a handful of Vet players that don’t respect him or any repercussions coming from him attached to their performance. It has a very Lance Briggs/Mel Tucker/Trestman feel to it.

On a side note, I’m not fan of guys that coach from the booth. It seems far too removed. You need to be able to pull guys aside sometimes right away as they’re coming to the sideline. Waiting to get them on the horn doesn’t seem like it would have the same effect imo

Yeah, the two guys who never touched Jefferson when he caught the first deep ball should have been ripped a new asshole for that idiocy.

Get the NFL package if you want to see a Fangio defense. Not going to get that locally.

two coaches away from a fangio defense now. the turnover bucket was a cute idea.... but what is the celebration for blown coverages? a stay in mike leech's dark concussion room?
