I think I'm going to go with friends to the Raiders game. Flights were already pretty expensive but I can use miles. I hope I won't get raped on tickets. I was thinking leave on Thursday. My friend suggested Saturday through Tuesday. Same time off and less expensive.

I love my close friends but we were talking about getting this together as a group.

One guy ends up putting it together with his frat bros. Fuck that

Another guy signs up with some neighborhood people who I think are swingers. He says we can hang out but he won't fly with or room with me. Sketchy dickhead.

I can go with a third guy but it would be as part of a group with a bunch of former CBOT guys I don't know. They are all semi retired "restauranteurs" who are talking about staying for a week. I'd have a lot of fun. I can't keep up with them financially. I know they will be ingesting and doing things I probably should stay away from unless I want to get divorced (as they all have been).

The rest of the viable candidates are on the wagon.

I have a more low key group with my best friend who are talking about Tampa. That is probably where I end up. However, he's an athletic guy who will be waking up at 5 am to get on a golf course rather than getting in from a night of drinking.

Tickets and flight for Tampa are now secured.

Willing to meet up if anyone else is going

Vegas flight and Venetian booked. A little pricey but doing it through costco travel helps. We had an Italy/Greece cruise scheduled for September which we canceled so staying at the Venetian for this replacement trip seemed apropos.

Game tickets are expensive right now so we will be patient on those.

I was in Vegas the second week of July for the Chappelle/Rogan show at MGM. Everything was returning to normal. Buffets and shows had just re-opened the previous week. Vegas did $794 million in revenue that month. Best month in 8 years.

Then Delta arrived and now they have a mask mandate. Who else is still going? Will Spiegel and Parkins have to wear a mask while doing the show at Circa? Maybe they're poolside and won't need them.

16 of us were scheduled to go and 13 of us dropped out after this stupid ass mask mandate, a mask doesn't do shot..I'm not going to wear one to make stupid people feel safe. I haven't worn one in 6 months.

Gonna call BS on that. And unless you're driving to Vegas, you will be wearing a mask as you travel there and back.

Would you have still gone if the mask was only required on the plane?

That's a damn shame! $400 (cheapest seats) is too damn much to watch this Bears team anyway.

You are never getting on a plane or going to a hospital without a mask ever again in your life. That much seems absolutely certain.

Yep. I’d say barring some unfortunate accident, most people will die with a mask on going forward.

I went to Circa in August. Great hotel. The indoor mask shit sucked. I am going the weekend of the Bears game because I am taking my daughter for her 21st bday. I am also going the weekend before Thanksgiving. These trips were all planned before the mask mandate.

I flew Chicago to Vienna on Austrian in May. They required the miserable KN-95 masks (not just any old cloth one) and people were not happy having to wear that thing for ten hours.

I just deal with it but its stupid. Just hold the drink in your hand and don't wear it. I've flown about a dozen times in the last year and the flight attendants usually don't give a shit anymore as long as you wear it getting on the plane.

$215 (plus the fees of course). Still biding my time. https://www.ticketmaster.com/las-vegas- ... 3ADF514A31

They do require proof of vaccination.

Of course, cheap fucks. Maybe someone can compute the odds of getting it 100% right, but my back-of-the-envelope math says the chances are about 1 in a quadrillion.

That's a pretty low payout for an outcome who's odds someone will actually guess correctly are practically zero...
