Fantastic move. When was the last time the bears picked SOMEONE WHO ACTUALLY WINS GAMES?

It is funny how all the Tweets of Bears QBs are of Fields... Yet all I hear from the press guys on the radio is Dalton is better right now.

How about some clips of Dalton doing good things?

Fuck Andy, he's been in the league over a decade and hasn't won a playoff game. He should have never been signed.

Andy Dalton was inarguably worse than Mitch last year with a much better supporting cast.

You think Dalton was better than Mitch last year?? Did you watch a Cowboys game post Dak injury? The guy had Amari Cooper, CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup, Zeke, Tony Pollard and struggled to put up 17 points a game

Until we are certain the Bears OLine is good and Nagy isn't an idiot, I say "Stay healthy Andy and keep Fields on the bench!"

To be fair, their offensive line had some injury problems. His struggles got Dak paid. Arguably the most overrated quarterback in the game.

He might be able to run, but sure can't throw based on today. Can't say I didn't tell you so.

What was the point of picking him? (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky could run, too.

Running for TD in pre-season is nonsense. Good way to get hurt.

LOL Yeah, it's called 2nd and 3rd stringers. I'm hoping the kid starts week 1, but it's amazing how Bears fans are so desperate for a good QB that they can't keep things in perspective. Didn't they learn anything from the Mitch years?

What game were you watching?

There was nothing impressive about him. Worse, he was disappointing.

No ones anything based on this one preseason game. There was some good things. There was some bad things.

He wasn't playing against top flight competition, but there was a lot to like and a lot that provides hope for the kind of player that he can be in the future. He was easily the best quarterback on the field today, despite having a lot to learn.

Bears blew it by not picking Mac Jones. Pace gets outfoxed again. Sad day!

It isn't Field's. It's the system of QB development here that'll send him to Buffalo or another city in a couple years.

Chicago is where QB's come to retire and die. :D

I agree. Nagy cannot be the guy in charge of Fields development. But I have zero faith in ownership identifying who that guy is. So I guess it's hope for the best

Yup, it all gets back to a lack of vision and leadership at the top of the organization and that likely never will change under the current ownership.

Every other organization recognizes the need to quickly evaluate first round QB's because the clock begins ticking immediately on their first contract, if they are good you need to know right away so you can take advantage the limited amount of time you do not have to take a huge cap hit at the QB position. As with almost everything, the Bears organization is way behind the rest of the NFL, of course the rest of the owners love Virginia McKaskey, they know the Bears will never develop into a major market force under her ownership, it makes the rest of the owners jobs much easier.

That's what is so infuriating about the Bears, particularly under Nagy/Pace: They are so devoid of true talent at skilled positions, or lacking in the ability to scheme players open, or both, that they have no choice but to turtle for much of the second half should they take a lead into halftime or gain the lead sometime in the 3rd.

They get a 1 or 2 score lead and then try to wind down the clock with 20+ minutes of game time left. They are so risk averse or just incapable of being able to reliably move the ball down the field that Fields could be Pat Mahomes and you'd still never see him throw for more than 230 yards regularly with a TD or two.

Too many dropped passes and dumb penalties.

Fields was clearly deer in headlights several times. The twitching that caused the false starts was clear nerves. But that was a great pass that Robinson dropped in the end zone. His numbers are terrifyingly bad for this game but with some better WR play they'd look very different.

As for the interception, he never saw the linebacker dropping back into coverage. Never saw the guy. That's not good. I don't know what that was.

Yep. And he also made 10 plays that looked like mahomes. And he won the game. We were going to lose with dalton. We won. The game. Won. Game. W.
