Just about any other competent ownership would leave Nagy and Pace in Cleveland, but no, it won’t happen- even though any other executive down to the head coach would be executed if their team can’t muster 50 yards of offense in an NFL game.

Have zero confidence that ownership will make the right decision if they approach the reboot with the same people in the same places, if they don't launch Ted and hire a football guy they will be easily fooled by the next Pace/Nagy combo that walks through the door.

While this isn't entirely false you have had two highly mobile quarterbacks that did not have a gameplan designed toward their strengths.
Neither fields or (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky are pocket passers. Time will tell on fields but (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky was well known to be more accurate rolling.

I don’t disagree to a point, but there’s a reason why you don’t build a game plan around roll out plays.

That’s basically the Cardinals entire game plan every game

It actually worked with (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky when Nagy wasn't calling plays. It's not something that you run every play, but it slows down the pass rush and simplifies the quarterback's options.

I don’t disagree to a point, but there’s a reason why you don’t build a game plan around roll out plays.

I don't disagree with you not disagreeing but there's gotta be middle ground here. I saw on a small handful of RPOs, maybe one bootleg. The book today was Daltons, it wasn't Fields. It's bizarre how bad the play calling was today. Worst I've seen in a long time.

It was kind of hard to tell with the offensive line being as bad as they were, honestly.

I'm watching Trent Williams maul people for the 49ers. He would have looked good at LT for the Bears.

Thayer was all over Nagy today during the game. Where are the roll outs? Where are the screens? Where are the Run/Pass Options?

If Nagy wants to try making Fields a pocket passer, why the fuck doesn't he put in 3 or 4 tightends to help shore up the shitty Line? Then run some RPOs? If a TE can block and release, great!

We're already starting with "ya gotta roll him out" takes? LOL Maybe the QB should stop holding onto the ball forever. Dalton barely took any sacks in his limited play.

You... know they played different teams, right?

Not to speak of.

Which is only the preferred way to slow down a pass rush for the other 31 NFL teams

Not that I'm disagreeing with you but do you think there's a reason they didn't attempt screen passes? It's just "Nagy is a dumbass" ? There's gotta be more to the story than just play calling.

They attempted a survey screen with 4 minutes left.

I think Fields can and will be just as good in the pocket as he is rolling out. His decision making was just very slow, which will change with experience. His line didn't give him much help and I didn't like Nagy's planning but I think this one was on Fields.

I am losing faith that Kmet can be anything better than the handful of other ND TE from the last decade, who are competent two way TE but never anything special as receivers.

You have a QB who is literally built for the RPO so whatever you do, never try to run one.

They aren't coaches, and Foles its pretty terrible at this point, but they are also veterans who have been around the league for a long time. Clearly they know what works and what doesn't work in terms of what is in the playbook versus the personnel you actually have on the field running said playbook.
