I would be shocked if Nagy and Pace don't get this year plus two more years before George would fire them. By bringing them back he basically agreed to let them do a mini rebuild.

They could have both received contract extensions.

I think Pace did for sure.

The potential franchise QB thing buys them time, but if the wheels fall off and they win 4-5 games the heat applied from the fan base will get pretty intense.

He's not getting fired tomorrow (today) or any time during the season. Neither is Nagy.

But let's be clear....PACE has been responsible for all of this. This is where the buck stops. Yes, Nagy is awful and should also be fired, but this piece of shit roster is all on Ryan Pace.

They could and should fire both but the dysfunctional owners probably don't have a plan of what to do next except hire a consultant to find the next mediocre at best front office. Perhaps hiring a team president now so you can hit the ground running when they do decide to move forward from this train wreck. That would probably be too proactive for them and instead they'll hire the next Phil Emory.

I warned you all years ago not to embrace the bad hiring. He was useless in New Orleans.

The roster, the coaching staff, and allowing said staff to "Be You" results be damned. You hired this guy to coach the people your drafted/traded for/signed and he has been an abject failure who is reticent to change or adapt.

Their Bears roster is better than the aging suckage that he inherited.

While that is clearly true, the way he has handled the OL is by itself reason to be fired.

I hear you. That offensive line looked good to competent the past 7 or 8 games before Sunday. When it comes to offensive players, I always have to wonder if Nagy's stubbornly is responsible.

The Bears are 43-56 with Pace as a GM. He's engineered one winning season and take that away, its 31-52. Sure, its not the 3-13 doormat that the Bears were under John Fox, but the fact still remains that this team hasn't won a playoff game since Lovie Smith was the coach.

His overall record is meaningless. He was hired to tear the Bears down to the studs and rebuild. He literally had built a team good enough to win a Super Bowl by his 4th season. The Bears are better positioned to win going forward than they were when he was hired. They'll also have a bunch of cap space next year and even more the year after. Nagy's play calling is the problem.

That's just commonsense. You can't ask someone to gut the organization and then bring up 4 win seasons when he was starting the rebuild.

Because Fields fell to them in the draft. That's pure luck, which teams need at times.

Again, Nas, one winning season. That's not good enough. Period.

Pace is just as big a problem as Nagy. One trades up in the draft to take guys that are off the team in two years, and the other couldn't dial his way out of a phonebooth. It's been a poor combination.

I'm not here to tell you that Pace has been some genius. Like Nagy, I think he was asked to do a job that he wasn't prepared for. When I look at our roster from top to bottom and our cap space, I personally feel better about the Bears roster today than I did 6 years ago. That's why I'm not as down on Pace as many others are. If you feel differently, I respect that.

I'm down on the team has a whole. Apathy has set in. I no longer plan my Sundays around the Bears. I want them to be good, but the organization is just not worth my time right now. I'm not sure I would even go to a game this year if somebody handed me free tickets.

If the team had one winning season and has been worse since then I think calling it a rebuild is fairly generous. Drafting the right QB and having the right coach to bring him along would seem to be the best way to rebuild.

In the NFL, turning things around in a year or two isn't unheard of.

Yeah, when you don't have to tear things down to the studs. Phil Emery destroyed the organization.

 ONE winning season. The rebuild was six years ago. Pace has had ample time to build the entire house back up, but still has a tarp on the roof and windows missing.

You seem to be purposely ignoring that the Bears are getting worse, not better. That's not really how rebuilds are supposed to work. We are getting to the point that someone will need to be brought in to "rebuild" Pace's mess.

But I do think Nagy is obviously the biggest problem with the organization outside of ownership.

He hasn't had a losing season in 3 years, but I think Nagy's offensive stubbornness hasn't allowed the Bears to take the next step. That being said, I don't think that you can fire either of them after this season.

He's had one winning season in seven years.

They both should have been launched before the Bears' charter left Cleveland last night.

It’s a great time to fire them too with all the money coming off the books. Don’t give Pace another chance at a mediocre rebuild.

It also seems like its crazy to give Nagy another chance with a young QB, yet here we are...
