Who has disrespected Forte? He is definitely one of the best RBs in bears history. Just not in Payton and Sayers league

David Montgomery is not a better player.

David Montgomery will have to die and go to heaven before he can play on an offense anywhere near as good as the Jay Cutler years.

David Montgomery will break more tackles on one run than Forte would break in an entire season. Not saying that made Forte bad or anything, the guy actually lived up to a veteran contract if memory serves correctly, but numbers don't tell the whole story. Montgomery gets the extra yard and breaks the extra tackle to get the first downs the Bears need him to get. Not all yards are created equal.

There's no way of actually proving it because Montgomery is so poorly utilized. Maybe if he goes somewhere else before he hits his expiration date he'll get a chance.

Andersons biggest crime was being the feature back right after Walter. In 89 he was awesome. 15 td, over 1200 yards and a ton of catches. Four 1000 yard seasons.
I guess we don't count him higher because he was the starter for only 6 years.

Breaking tackles does not make one a great RB.

Montgomery pretty much lost a year not getting any damn plays called for him.

Matt Forte is a poor man's McCaffery.

Forte was the king of the meaningless yards, 3rd and forever he and Jay would get a 14 yard screen pass then punt. If you needed one yard, Forte can't get it.

Not being Sayers or Payton is not a crime. Forte was great. Anderson had a brilliant but short lived run because of injury. He was a do everything back who was humble enough to be the FULLBACK in the offense during Payton's last year. Great special teamer as well. You never hear anything about the guy. Loved Neal Anderson.

Forte was in the top 5 for yards from scrimmage for about 7 straight years. He was durable too.

Young Nas liked Neal Anderson as a kid, but I didn't really know what I was watching. I think the Sun-Times made him more important to me than he was.

I was so spoiled as a kid with going from Walter to Anderson. Its too bad his hamstrings (I think it was his hamstrings, maybe I'm remembering wrong) didn't hold up. Thought the Bears always had a good back. After that... pretty lean pickings for a while until Thomas Jones I guess. The Enis and Salaam and later Benson being crap didn't help.

Meaningless yards are garbage time yards. That's it. To say a guy who put up 14k career yards just produced meaningless yards is just plain country dumb.

Had almost 300 meaningless total yards in the 2 2010 playoff games

I guess that begs the question why other players don't try and get those meaningless yards too. It got Forte $44 million.

How many of Pace's first round picks are still with the team? He's had 6, right, and 3 are gone? That can't be good.

Add this to the reasons this idiot needs fired and this organization needs to be completely overhauled.

Would it be giving the Bears too much credit if we say the offer was intentionally insulting? Like "sure, we could use you. Yeah. Here's our offer. In case you need help reading that it says go screw yourself".

According to Olin the new OL coach that year Hiestand came to him with the offer. It did not sound like Olin went after the job.

They had already paid him millions and millions of dollars during his playing days. The only reason you would offer him minimum wage is to get him on as an employee for insurance or liability reasons I would think.

A lot of players trying to get into coaching do the same thing for free. Ron Riviera wasn't getting paid anything when he started working for the Bears.

Yeah, the great ones get tackled and fall to the ground.

Forte would go down with a touch of the ankle. Overrated because Jay had no receives and kept checking down 10 times a game to Forte.

Kreutz is a hot head. You don't want him anywhere near your team if you are trying to pretend you are a real franchise. He will expose your dumbasses, just like he just did.

Odd career shift. Goes from scouting players to running errands for them.
