If they thought Tatis and Seimen were elite talents, why did they give them away for Shields and a Jeff Samardzija rental ?

Kenny Williams.

Add THIS to my response.

Trading Tatis as a teenager to win now wouldn't be a problem. My problem thnm and looking back now has already been mentioned:
- Their delusional view of how close they thought they were
- Their delusional view of Shields and Samardjia when they got them.

It was typically Kenny Williams....bad.

There was something funny about them going out and acquiring an all star second baseman and suddenly going into a tailspin.

I thoroughly enjoyed Machado yelling at Tatis a couple of weeks ago. Had a 2004 Cubs vibe to it.

Did anything ever come out about what they were mad about?

I read something that made it sound like Machado was pissed at Tatis free swinging at everything to try and make individual stats and it was hurting the team. But Machado is the ultimate team player, right?

Playing team baseball is for stodgy old white ball players and racist . The only important thing is is that his unbridled joy isn’t reigned in. That he has fun out there every day. Its what the kids want to see.

Satire doesn't work if you genuinely believe what you are attempting to satirize.

A lot of people had that delusional view of Samardzija. "W/L record is meaningless." In fact, his W/L record told you everything you needed to know about him.

Yep...we all would have probably enjoyed watching him play football and all he learned at ND was how to fleece the sport he wasn't as good at into a hefty series of pay days.

Eloy has more career HRs (55) since he made his debut in 2019 than any player has hit for the Cubs.

18 home runs a year in the juiced ball era doesn't make you elite, dumbass.

Factoring Eloy's 885 career plate appearances, that averages to 37.29 Home Runs a season(600 AB season).. you ignorant, uneducated, Ffag.

I remember him making a shit ton of errors on the White Sox, but I looked him up and it looks like he turned the corner on the errors around 2019. Even so, he's on the wrong side of 30. I would like to see the Sox save some money and get an all defense second baseman and spend some money on the bullpen next year.
