Wow.

A really odd time to fire a manager isn't it?

Just heard about this on the Cubs game. WOW! Why not finish out the season, at this point? Talk about a kick in the nuts on the way out....

I gotta think he has a hard time getting a significant position in MLB again, he is a moron.

I gotta think if I am a player on this team that the message this sends to me from management is "we suck and are not making the playoffs this year."

I just do not see how this is a good move.

FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal hinted in his column that if the bumbling Milwaukee Brewers didn't make the playoffs, Ned Yost would be shown the door. The timing is a little surprising, given the fact the Brewers & Phillies are now tied for the National League Wildcard, even though Philly just swept right out of Citizens Bank Park over the weekend!

Even though most people agree that Ned Yost is a moron, and was melting down for the 2nd consecutive season, I'm not sure this should be shocking or anything. They traded for Sabathia, they once were right there with the Cubs, and they once had a commanding wild card lead. They haven't been to the playoffs in something like 20 years, and this is a team that could be very dangerous in a short series so I applaud Milwaukee's management for making a move, even if it's late in the season.

Milwaukee was where it was last month (pretty much a playoff lock) because of the work of the GM and the success of the farm system. Milwaukee is where it is today (tied for the last spot and falling fast) because Yost is a terrible manager. I think it sends the right message to the players. Management isn't going to stand by at let Yost piss away the playoffs again when this team is a legitimate World Series contender.

I just do not see how this is a good move.

They might be hoping for a Mets-like turnaround.

This is fucking bullshit. 12 games left and they fire the manager?!? I just looked up what some of these clowns have been doing in September. I'd like to see a manager who can win with players shitting the bed like this.

Fielder .197 1 HR 5 RBI
Braun .225 1 HR 6 RBI
Cameron .125 0 HR 1 RBI
Hart .205 0 HR 2 RBI
Hall .148 0 HR 1 RBI
Kendall .206 1 HR 3 RBI

Suppan 0-1 6.75 ERA
Bush 0-1 5.54 ERA
Parra 0-1 4.50 ERA
Torres 0-2 4.05 ERA
Gagne 9.00 ERA
Riske 27.00 ERA

I am officially rooting against the Brewers. I hope they go 0-12 the rest of the season.

As mentioned in the Cubs section... This was an interesting move. I wont be surprised if later it is said that the players asked for this to happen. Listening to the press conference, you could tell that this decision was made simply for the players as a favor. Yost has had run-ins with players and has generally been a poor manager. I dont think this will set any precedent for firing managers late in the season. All that being said, I still think the Brewers will not make the playoffs simply on the fact that they have a horrible bullpen.
