They had almost nothing to play for a good chunk of the year too. Nobody pushed them.

They’re going to skullfuck the Astros. I’m minorly concerned they’ll drop a game in the CS, but that’s a future Antioch problem.

They looked very sharp the last couple of weeks. They allowed the fewest runs in the American League, and they scored almost 800 runs without most of their starting outfield for the majority of the season. The team is loaded. And the bullpen for all it's struggles seems to be clicking now. Baseball can be random, but they are not going to be an easy out. And I think they are catching the Astros at the right time.

This would be great fun, but I just don't see it. Astros have too much talent for this to happen. The Sox are full of talent as well and will not get swept. I predicted Sox in 4, but I think each game is going to be a nailbiter.

Maybe Tony is just doing a little gamesmanship here to throw the Astros off but if Rodon cant go the Sox are in trouble. Their pitching is not a WS staff even with Rodon. No team is afraid of facing Lance Lynn or Giolito.

The Sox staff is better than the Astros. I don't think they have the pitching to shut down the Sox offense.

Feeling an easy game one win. 14-2. Grandal homers. Second game will be tougher. Probably win 5-4. Win on a Hernandez home run after an error on Houston. Then the bullpen comes up big for a 5-3 win to close it out.

Lynn would have lead the AL in ERA if he had pitched 1 more game. Giolito had the 6th best ERA. Cease had the 9th. I'd love for Rodon to get a healthy start but their starting pitching is solid.

Lynn will be in the top 5 vote getters for Cy Young, as he has been in the previous two seasons. He's the anti Machiavelli in that he gained respect over fear.

Giolito and Rodon will both get votes as well.

Giolito is a young pitcher who has pitched really well in Houston. Lynn has absolutely sucked in Houston and against the Astros everywhere. I wouldn't want Giolito pitching in a must win Game 2 on the road. Lynn is better equipped to handle that pressure.
