Dance with Dragons published in 2011. Now we have the entire series plus a prequel in the can before Martin has written the next book.

I feel he had no clue how to end the series so he was hoping the TV writers would give him some ideas but they decided to shit the bed instead.

I'll probably watch it since I have HBO anyways, but I'm not that enthusiastic about this.

I see that narrative being spouted a lot but I don’t believe it. He was quite an accomplished author before he wrote Game of Thrones. He had to have some idea, broad outline of the beginning middle and end of it before he even starts to write it. I just can’t believe he’s clueless on how to end the series.

He had no clue how to end the series because “Storm of Swords” was supposed to be the ending until his publisher gave him a dump truck full of money to continue it. I think he’s even admitted as such.

The two dweebs who ran the show didn’t have a good idea of their own so they fucked around til Disney gave them a Star Wars opportunity and they bum rushed the last season to get it over with.

I don’t really have any faith in TV shows anymore. Not even BCS. I’m expecting it to end in a shitfest. Especially with how long they’re dragging these off seasons. Even before COVID.

It seems to be the opposite. He chose a bad ending and the producers weren't smart enough to change it even though they could have.

I'd say that the "golden age of TV" ended around the time streaming started gaining steam, but there are still good shows out there. Succession is every bit as good as Golden Age TV shows from the 2000-2015 era.

BCS has been living off the Breaking Bad brand loyalty since the end of the Jimmy-Chuck storyline.

Maybe. But it’s still relatively young. If it sticks the landing and can see itself through, maybe 3-4 more seasons, I will give it a chance. I’m finding I watch a lot of older shows now, because I don’t have to worry about where it goes.

Good shows can stick the landing still. The Americans ended right around the time GoT did and damn was that the perfect final season to a great run.

Not really feeling the Americans. Overrated in my book. Some people here are equating it to the Sopranos in terms of quality. Get real, lol

I won't watch it and still complain how much Game of Thrones sucked balls.

I'll hate watch it and start fights with people who praise it.

I hope they filmed it in a way that’s so dark you can’t tell what’s happening like GOT did.

Lots of poorly lit dungeons and caves.

Remember when they spent the better part of a decade building up to a battle, only to film that battle with no external light sources?
