I think it was done on purpose, but it seemed to be the most unnatural set of jokes he has done, but I think his goal was to set the "Get Cancelled" bar so high that other comedians could do their job and say things that may be offensive without being worried that they'll be destroyed by the online mob.

I'm not sure it was really a comedy show. I understood his intentions, and laughed a few times, but focusing on white transsexuals and the LGBTQ+ community for about 40 minutes was excessive. I'm not sure it will accomplish what he hopes that it will.

I am probably more offensive in the bathroom to others than they are to me. I just don't like middle stall sitters.

The sports stuff is obviously ridiculous and everyone knows it, when a person born male competes against females. True athletic competitors want to measure themselves against the best and fully know when they are playing against lesser competition. The real indicator that it is a farce is that you never see people born female transition and then dominate against men. So it really isn't a trans issue, it's an even smaller subset within the community. I think the community would gain some respect if they did some self policing on the issue to recognize the very real physical advantage of an athlete born male and blend it within the framework of trans women are women.

Anyway, back to Chapelle, I haven't watched it but even poorly executed humor should be held sacredly because the genre itself has a bigger purpose on the macro level.
