Tony made a lot of moves today that did not work. Good defense by them and ground balls against Bummer that the Sox just couldn't gave them the poison but Tony's moves cut their heads off

To be fair, he brought in Crochet (lefty) for Giolito to face Alvarez (lefty). Matchup made sense and the three batter minimum rule is present.

Not a fan of that in inning five

The Sox were a year early. For the second year in a row.

Me neither but Giolito couldn't stop walking people. With a hitter like Alvarez, you should play the percentages and bring in a lefty.

He was probably having beers with one post helping him write up the review

Merry Christmas. You have been good this year.

Congrats on the Pulte sale! Will you be partying at the Sugar Shack in Wisconsin tonight?

No I am in Vegas at the Bellagio right now. My daughter turned 21.

After Giolito's 2nd walk in the 5th, I called him a "miserable c*nt", then completely gave up after they tied it. Turned the shit off and damn proud of it. Won't be watching Game 3. I watched the 2000 game 3. That's plenty.

Now I'm glad the Game 3 tickets sold out before I had a chance to buy one.

And Len said Giolito had been excellent; since when is going less than 5 innings with 5 walks to boot merit an "excellent"?

I'm both looking forward to Sunday night and dreading it. Going to have a flask in my pocket just in case things get out of hand early.

How many runners in scoring position did Abreu leave on?

4.1 innings , 4ER, 5 walks is pitching well. Then again Len is used to soaping up bad pitching performances to sell to audiences from the Cubs years .

That would be some discipline. My father, a Cubs fan, claimed he didn't watch Game 7 of the 2003 NLCS after the Cubs epic collapse in Game 6. I'm not entirely sure I believe him.

you keep reposting this as if you have some insight into who players fear

Over the last three years Lynn was 5th, 6th and soon to be another top 5 in Cy Young voting. It's a ridiculous argument.

Cole and Scherzer both pitched badly.

Some guys are afraid of Lucas Giolito. Others are afraid of getting a shot.

Objectively, I don't understand this line of thinking.

Lynn, Gilioto, Abrue, Moncada, Anderson and Grandal have all either peaked or on the downslopes of their career. Luis Robert is really the only budding star you have. Eloy can't stay healthy enough at this point. And you have massive holes at second base and right field. And no farm system to boot (which is fine, you promoted all the good guys) but still there is nothing to fill in the gaps, and the bottom of your lineup is an automatic out.

I would say sign Stroman this offseason, bring back Rodon and build a pitching dominant team, but I don't know if that flows with the terrible defensive unit currently out there. This was the year to win it all with emergence of Rodon/Cease and the trades you made in the bullpen.

It wasn't serious.

They wasted great years from Abreu, Anderson, Giolito, Lynn, and others in the past 2 seasons.

They brought in a manager to prepare the team to win in the playoffs who has lost as many playoff games as the previous guy did

They are a team that plays wildly better at home than on the road and yet gave away countless games this season with their "getaway day" lineups.

Everyone's another year older next season.

Maybe this is the year the money will be spent.

No, Len is used to watching Lester, Darvish, Hendricks and Arrieta in their primes. Len is just getting used to seeing Keuchel, Kimbrel and Lynn getting lit up this past month.

Win at comiskey (frank can plug us into what happens on Sunday night)…head back to hurricane country and see if they put the garbage cans away for a game.

Boom. ALCS.

You went the serious route and still slipped Darvish in there?

Well a) the season isn’t over yet and b) yea they have some holes but they play in a bad division. They’ll be in the playoffs for the next few years. If they let Rodon go ( which is probably the smart move instead of signing him to huge dollars given his history ) their pitching is suspect . Need an ace and you’re not getting the kind of year from Lance Lynn again .

That was more an offer than an accusation.

I’m a Sox, Bears and ND fan. Not a lot there save for the greatest World Series team in history.

Bulls & Blackhawks have done well enough in my lifetime to not complain.
