I missed the game except for about fifteen minutes in the car with Brent Musberger doing the Raiders' call. I read through the play sheet on NFL dot com and what struck me was that with four TE on the roster, they used Alex Bars as a blocking tight end a whole lot on both scoring drives.

Why have 4 TE if none of them can fucking block?

I was watching the Sportnet postgame. Those guys are really good.

Who would have thought Olin would be a great communicator? But Olin and Alex were both saying how putting Bars in that position would baffle the Raiders and showed video proof of guys being completely out of position because they didn't understand what he was.

I don't give the Bears credit that it was the intention. Seemed clear it was out of necessity.

But, it was interesting to hear top-notch players say that it would confuse them because they never saw it and wouldn't know how to process it.

The Bears sure caught the Raiders at the right time!

Has he finally admitted the Bears won the Mack trade?

Even I'm not ready to admit that.

Even though the Raiders were obviously distracted there were a few positives that can be taken from the game.

Goldman looked like the Goldman of old, when he plays like that it makes it difficult to run against the Bears.

Ifedi's injury finally got him off the field, there is no noticeable change in the level of play at RT when he's replaced by a journeyman, and the replacement level guy comes without the two to three drive killing false start penalties.

Kalil Herbert looks to a great prospect, run low with great pad level and leg drive, quick to the hole, and looks to have a great 5-10 burst.

The "Raiders were distracted" narrative is for sports talk and pre game show consumers. Those guys might care slightly but are so tunnel focused from week to week that many probably didn't even know what occurred.

Were they not distracted when they took the opening drive for a FG and then got distracted soon after?

The much more honest assessment would be to say they were playing on a short week after a MNF game on the road against a hated division rival. I'll accept it if you want to call it a let down game using that theory. The rest is bunk.

Actually their first drive was a 3 and out, they scored a FG on second drive after having having 2nd a goal from the two, two penalties and had to burn a TO on that drive, not quite the focused machine you were referring too, numerous drops throughout the game, and a very disinterested looking Carr in the second half.

Maybe you were listening to the game on Uncle Terry's imaginary radio?

So, they were really interested on the plays that got them to the two yard line, then they became disinterested? If only they had kept interest for those two more yards but the thought of those e-mails was lingering in their subconscious.
