Top of the 8th at (Not So) Progressive Field in Cleveland with the Indians clinging to an 8-7 lead on the Twins...Meanwhile, "Frasier" is warming up in the bullpen on "The U"...

Have we seen the beginning of the end for "Dirty 30" because of this nagging slump, Frank?

Maybe. But while Owens is fast, he has not impressed me at all up here this Sept.

Jerry Owens started tonight in left field, and went 0-for-4 at the bottom of the order...

Bobby Jenks, save or no save, gets the job done in the White Sox 6-2 win over the Yankees...Gavin Floyd wins his 16th, while Andy Pettitte is 13-14...Another Yankee unknown goes tomorrow in the Bronx as Phil Hughes (?) goes for the Pinstripes...The Sox have TBA, and it's believed it'll either be Clayton Richard or Lance Broadway, according to the Sun-Times' Joe Cowley.

The telecast promo just showed Javy Vazquez as tomorrow's starter.

I have no idea why the fuck Owens played ahead of Wise today. Didn't matter. We won. Thank God.

BA got the start in center vs the lefty. That's fine. But if Swisher isn't playing, and you have 2 lefties - Wise and Owens - why the fuck don't you play Wise? He's batting .300 and he's hit homers in two straight games!!!! It's insane that Owens started ahead of Wise. Insane!!! Owens isn't a MLB player. He just sucks!!!!

Anyway, Twins are in extras tied 9-9.

2nd HR of the year for Victor Martinez couldn't have come at a better time!

12-9 Indians in 12!

Twins lose!!!! Twins lose!!!! 12-9 in 11 innings!!!

Sox up 2.5 games!!!!

This is a devistating loss to the Twins for 3 reasons.

1.) Liriano, their supposed stud, started this game and got rocked. 8 runs, 4 earned, in 2.2 innings.

2.) Twins came back from 7 down to take the lead in this game. To lose that comeback hurts.

3.) Their stud closer - Nathan - gave up a 3-run homer in the 11th to lose it.

Cliff Lee pitches against the Twins tomorrow. That's just beautiful. Indians should sweep the Twins.

I thought it was a cool thing for Alexei Ramirez. He's a rookie. He only had 4 games to do it. Yankee stadium will be no more after this year. He hit a homer in the historic stadium. He can always say he did that. I don't know? Maybe I'm more happy for him than he is. But I'm sure he is proud of that acomplishment. I think about shit like this.

Personally, I think Vasquez has been pitching well but doesn't have much to show for it. In his last ten, he's 5-5 with a 3.29 ERA. I think Javy will be fine on the bump today.

Critical game tonight (assuming the Twins lose). Going up 3.5 with the Sox at KC and the Twins at Tampa over the weekend would put a chokehold on this division.

Ok. Clayton Richard pitches tonight. That sucks. But it's the perfect day for him to pitch. He's going against some guy named Hughes. Hughes is 0-4 with a 9.00 ERA.

So the Sox are just gonna have to win a slug-fest tonight. Plus, Ozzie should only let Richard go 4 innings and give into to the bullpen regardless of what he's doing. You can let Carrasco go 3 innings from there.

Phil Hughes is a stud. He was the Yanks 1st round pick out of high school in '04 and has been one of the game's top prospects ever since. He has been the center of trade talks for the last couple years but the Yanks have wisely hung onto him. The start of his career has been slowed by injury (he's only 22) so don't let his numbers fool you. The Sox will have their hands full with this immensely talented youngster tonight.

I believe the Sox have faced him already this year.

Phil Hughes is one of several Yankee pitchers who have started & struggled this season, although I'm not so sure the White Sox have faced #65 in the Yankee uniform...It was so early in the season when the Sox hosted the Yanks at U.S. Cellular Field. What's up with that?

I don't care if he is a top draft pick and people think highly of him. The son of a bitch is 0-4 with a 9.00 as we speak. That means he sucks. Being a stud in high school doesn't help him in MLB. That's pretty clear.

Beardown, the White Sox better not make Phil Hughes look like Cy Young this eve...Speaking of pitchers, Cliff "I Better Be the A.L. Cy Young Award Winner" Lee goes for win #23 tonight vs. Minnesota at Progressive Field. I wonder if Twins' TV voices Dick Bremer & Bert Blyleven are starting to wonder about Joe Nathan, who gave up Victor Martinez's game winning 3 run homer in the bottom 12th late last night...Joe's been blowing a lot of saves lately...

Must have been a last minute change. I think Broadway and Richard are one in the same. Doesn't matter to me.

Like I said, we just have to win a shoot-out tonight.

Frank, your guess is as good as mine. In the game I saw firsthand last month, Lance pitched very well before getting optioned down to Triple "A" Charlotte right after the game. The subject came up again last night with Chris Rongey on the White Sox Radio Network postgame show, and "The Ranger" told a caller that he wasn't so sure about Broadway being polished. I'm not enamored one bit about Clayton Richard, and he's made a couple of questionable throws that came back to bite the Sox in the ass. Ozzie immediately pulled the plug on Richard, but the damage was done & got tagged with losses at both Cleveland & the other night vs. Toronto at "The Cell"...

That was a weak 1st inning for Sox hitters. Hughes hung Konerko and Dye curve balls. They both should have hit homers.

Good news: They will get to this Hughes guy. He just doesn't have it.

Hawk called it early. He is right. Every time Hughes throws that curve it has no bite. It's a floater and it's over the plate and high. We've missed some but OC just nailed that one. So will the rest of the guys eventually.

Wow!!! I was wrong about this game. I thought this would be a slug fest.

You can't say enough about Clayton Richard. My God!!!! 6.2 innings and only 2 runs (Should have been 1 but McDougal is an ass hole) allowed. He struck out AROD and Jeter two times each.

Talk about a great story for him. He's a rookie pitching in a tight division race. Pitching in the 5th last game at Yankee Stadium; the one and only time he'll ever pitch there. He comes through by pitching a beauty. Fuckin' Mcdougal put him on the hook for the loss.

Shame on the Sox hitters once again. Just a piss poor job. They've had some cookies to hit tonight and missed. They've failed at bunts and moving guys over as well.

Fuck McDougal. I think he enjoys being bad. I really do. Hawk is pissed. I don't blame him.
