The false starts are on Mustipher and that interception is a mission that every quarterback in the NFL makes. He was a little slow going through his progressions, but I didn’t think he played anywhere near as bad as his numbers looked. As I suspected, he clearly isn't completely ready to start.

Really?? Im assuming you believe that he didn't snap when he was supposed to and not that Fields was calling the wrong snap count or something.. I don't know really. Usually I qb getting hit with the FS is the center though I agree.. but in pistol or shotgun,, wait for the ball to come to you before you start moving I guess..

Agree completely on the int being a rookie thing. Still kind of bizarre to me to have just never seen the guy. It wasn't a weird defensive play.

Anyhoodles I agree that he's not completely ready to start and Nagy (hate to admit this) was correct in calling Daltons number first.

But... it was great experience today. Shake off those nerves, and when he does start, he won't have that kind of first time anxiety.

Overall this was good for him.

Fields isn't vaccinated, but I doubt the media will ask or beat him up about it for now.

I know the media has belittled some guys with it, but have they ever done it directly after a game at the press conference? Seems like that is something that would be asked after a practice or in the middle of the week or something like that.

So much for the concept of medical privacy these days. You're either proudly vaccinated, outed for claiming "it's a personal choice" or sneered at as being unvaccinated.

Society has flipped the switch on this vaccine being about your health / your risk of catching a potentially harmful virus tonow you being a 'threat to your community" because you damn dirty unvaxxed (akin to "the great unwashed" in the 1700s-1800s) are causing the virus to mutate and then spread out if control so much that now it can kill vaxxed people.

It creates an us vs them paradigm where sooner than later ur gonna have to prove your allegiance to "us" by getting carded B4 you enter public buildings or better yet go full on china and use a special app to check in everywhere you go to help with contact tracing, again needed cuz of the dirty unvaxxed.

And then go figure in another 3-4yrs once virusmania dies down the tech/infastructure/social conditioning is there to have ppl used to using the app to check in wherever you go (read: to be allowed access to go/enter there) flip over to it being used for the "carbon tax" that the elite have wanted for awhile

Literally, they wanna limit or charge you for the amount of air you breathe and/or the amount of "damage" you're doing to the community by either forbidding you or charging you $$$ to go out and use your cars/vehicles to go places because dammit peasant stop hogging all the air water and resources that the truly $$$ELITE$$$ people always need first/100% unfettered access to cuz there's too.many of you proles around sucking up the world's resources.

Sorry bout the tangent, but it all.starts with using the example class (celebrities) as a way to show off that others should be able to know the vaxx status of others cuz the unvaxxed are a threat to society. After we're used to hearing about everyone famous who either gets COVID or isn't 100% confirmed vaxxwd, it's a slippery slope to.whete everyone around you feels like they should have the right to know if it vaxxwd or not to mitigate any threats the great unvaxxed would create for good upstanding vaccinated people.

They don't really show mercy for a lot of guys, but Fields still has the new car smell. I noticed that he was wearing a mask during his press conference last week. That's apart of the protocol for unvaccinated players.

So what is everyone expecting this game? I think you have to believe he's at least going to go something like 13/27 to start. Maybe 60 yards on the ground?

Is there anything worse than those hot take shows? They take a small thing and blow it up to a national emergency. Started on cable news, now sports is like that. Go back to showing highlights all day.

Stupid takes.

I won't call Ike's take stupid, but I'll disagree. Fields is young...he will out-live Nagy and Pace. Ride the bench...learn.... and for this year....keep your health. Let Dalton and Foles get absolutely demolished this season.

Fields got himself demolished. Dalton did just fine behind that line. He only got hurt when he got greedy and took off running. I don't even think anyone hit him. He just planted weird and hyperextended his knee.

With Fields and Wilson predictably struggling on the Bears and Jets and the jury still out on whether the Bengals have bungled Burrow, future top of the draft QB's and their agents might start trying to call their landing spots. Arch Manning will no doubt let the league know which franchise he'll deign to play for when he's drafted in 2026.

Justin Fields is starting the rest of the year! Nagy not playing calls. This is the beginning of the end. Here is where we will see Fields weakness of staring down the #1 read as he holds...holds...holds... onto the ball. No one else to blame. THE PRESSURE IS ON FIELDS!

Fields didn't have to face the Browns pace. rush, which is arguably one of the best in the NFL right now. Dalton would have played better than Fields, but he would have struggled, as well. It was probably a very good, humbling experience for Fields. A very good dose of reality and the speed of the NFL.

I like Fields and there's a lot of upside, but I'd prefer to see Dalton starting for the time being.

Another recent first rounder’s stats after his first four starts:

52/89 for 610 yards. 3 TDs/3 INTs.

Guesses???

Lamar, who also contributed 332 yards rushing @ 4.9 y/a in those 4 games

and Lamar only took 8 sacks over those 4 games for -46 yds

Fields has taken 18 sacks for -163 yds, while rushing for 102 yds @ 3.9 y/a

Yup.

Don’t know how the respective O-lines compare, but keeping in mind that Lamar didn’t start until the second half of the season, and has better coaching…all I’m saying is judging Fields after 4 games is ridiculous.

Anyone judging Fields or any quarters after 4 games is an idiot. You shouldn't get a better idea what Fields can be by the end of this season. Realistically, next season is the year that we should "know" as long as he stays healthy.
