Alec likely played a large role in the unsafe environment. Guy is a massive prick who treats production crew like furniture. Again, I take joy in his misery for reasons that aren't even related to politics.

I just don’t care that people are piling on the bad guy here for the wrong reasons. He killed a lady. He shot another guy. The motive behind people jumping on him doesn’t really rate para mi.

Motivations always matter to me.

I absolutely hate analogies.

Just a weakness and crutch when debating/arguing with someone.

MANY here are experts analogists.

Analogies done right sharpen, educate, refine. I’d suggest it’s a credit to the bored if the men (and woman!) posting here are proficient in using them.

Also the bad guy shot a couple people. Nobody talks about that.

When the breadth of your analogy intake has been Brick the last ten years then you must understand my disdain for the practice of made up story time arguments.

I feel the same way about your love of Bernie.

Seems pretty clear that Baldwin wasn't at fault...

https://www.chicagotribune.com/nation-w ... story.html

An assistant director, Dave Halls, grabbed a prop gun off a cart at a desert movie ranch and handed it to Baldwin during a Thursday rehearsal for the Western film “Rust,” according to court records made public Friday.

“Cold gun,” Halls yelled, declaring the weapon didn’t carry live rounds and was ready to fire.

But it wasn’t. When Baldwin pulled the trigger, he unwittingly killed 42-year-old cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and wounded director Joel Souza, who was standing behind her inside a wooden, chapel-like building

The theory that he accidentally pointed a gun at people and fired seems very plausible, but he still accidentally pointed a gun at people and fired.

This one is likely t get ugly. There is zero reason for guns with live ammunition to be sitting around like that. Of all the things in the world that have regulated check-in, check-out procedures with shit tons of quality control, I'd think be a fucking real gun.

I highly doubt Alec Baldwin is losing any sleep over this....but it really is sad and should have never happened.

It feels like some people (not MANY) are wishing he knowingly pointed a live gun at someone, in front of dozens of witnesses, and blew this lady away. Sorta weird.

I'll put it to you this way, if someone hands me a gun and says it's empty I still check it myself.
Every gun you have is to be considered loaded.
While it's positively insane to have a live rounds sitting around it's more insane for them to be in a gun and it's further insane for that gun with rounds in it to be on a cart near a large gathering of people.
However, the guy holding it ultimately has the final responsibility.
If you have an AD at a range or at home it doesn't matter who handed it to you or what they said when they did it.

Edit... words and grammar and punctuation and I gave up really at one point.

Agreed, but we're talking about Alec Baldwin. He didn't build his successful career and wealth by being smart

All those real world rules are thrown out the window on a movie set, where actual ammunition isn't supposed to be around. Someone in the chain of custody of the prop didn't do their job.

Dude. The real world rules aren't thrown out anywhere. Throwing out the rules is how someone died.

He'll still end up paying for the wrongful death suit over their LLC's and his individual insurance coverage. Difficult to think of a better scenario for piercing an LLC's protections than where a member of
the LLC is the primary participant causing the damage. But that might not be the case in New Mexico. He'll get counter or cross or whatever sued by the other members to recoup any damages they get hit with. Half the plaintiff's bar in NM chubbed up when they heard a hollywood actor killed one person
and injured another in their backyard. Everbody on set that day will be filing some sort of action against Baldwin and the production company.

I’m wishing he accidentally shot somebody instead of intentionally shooting them?

I'm more wishing he accidentally shot himself as opposed to accidentally shooting someone else.

People don't like him and they want him taken down a peg (paging Deni$$$) or two. That kind of feeling is what makes us human. We love to bask in the misfortune of others.

He's your typically Hollywood elitist self-righteous douchebag. I would have been happier if he accidentally shot himself, Ted Nugent or the real DRUMPF instead of a set cinematographer.

I would be happier if nobody got hurt. Baldwin is a bit of a shit head but he doesn't deserve to be injured, physically or mentally.

However, perhaps if he spent more time listening to what the NRA actually does say rather than blaming them for all gun violence he would have known to check his weapon when he was handed it and nobody would have been hurt.
