no it was a bullpen game. getting 4 out of Grienke was more than he could have asked for. Grienke''s on his last legs and not the same pitcher he was in previous years. Dusty did the right thing. Just his bullpen made 3 bad pitches and thats why they're losing.

I've been enjoying it, but the "grumpy old man" side of me can't stand the pace of play.
4th inning, and both teams on 3rd pitcher and past the 2 hour mark. I'm a baseball "lifer" and will watch, but it's hard to imagine this is making any new fans.

What was the pitching stat that was mentioned? Most appearances in playoff history? I doubt either of these managers really believe in the analytics. They're just trying to hold onto the game for as long as they can. It keeps them alive.

I just read the average innings per start this post season is now 3.95. When you're refusing to let the starter face the lineup for the third time, you're killing one of the games' most interesting story lines.

After last night's game, I saw them ask Dusty who he was going to start tomorrow, and my response was "who cares? Whomever they start is going to be gone in the 4th inning anyway."
