Just kinda sad that after fields manages to overcome his 14pt barrier in the 2H (even tho the defense gave them 1 TD) you end up.leaving too much time for big ben rapelisberger.

Especially when on the drive b4 that you were off the field in the steelers half and you stop em.on 3rd snd 16, only to.hsve that taunting penalty come in to hive them.new life to go downfield and make it 26-20 with much less time. Then, ofc, JF1 does the big pimpin TD drive but leaves 1:30 [n the clock do the steelers walk downfield in 1min (after starting at their 40? Didnt see how/why) make it a 2pt lead and then we can only manage to.gst original kid cairo santos a 60-65yd attempt which he had lined up but not enough leg. Go figure.

Great defense?
Ok

The Steelers have a great defense. This was the most points they have given up all season.

7 of those don't count. Special Teams.

When you add up the points that the refs took off the board it evens out.

Does Lance Briggs just not care what he looks like anymore?

Is he rebooting Nirvana?

He could at least get that flannel dry-cleaned and pressed for TV.

Olin and Wanny are the only guys that have a look that I would like. Briggs dresses down just about every week, Alex Brown wears the same sports coat with whatever t-shirt he left the house with, Kap almost always looks like he got dressed in the dark and like he doesn't have the money to get his ugly blazers tailored. That show clearly isn't the studio look of our youth. I thought that was done purposely.

I guess. I just thought Lance was particularly in I don't give a F*** mode.

I'm just not in a good mood probably.

I wear that stuff all the time and my wife gets mad at me and I'm not doing it on TV, usually just on a podcast.

Bad teams always find a way to lose.

There are likely GM/Coach candidates watching this team thinking they just need to give Fields another lineman or two, and another quality WR and this team can produce offensively.

Tons of bad paper to cut on D. Desai will be a great quality control coach somewhere else next year, but as a DC his defense plays dumb and undisciplined football.

So Bearslike, your roster sucks so you have to get a guy off the street and then actually play him, the guy miraculously makes a play, but instead of heading back to the sideline and celebrating the fact he may actually stay in the league one more week, he does some Mr. Miyagi style move and stares down the opposing sideline?

They weren't able to pressure Ben so a weak secondary was exposed. Johnson is the only starting level player in the secondary.

I expected Vildor to be a problem but I thought we would see development. I don't see anything more than a nickel position in his future.

Duke is growing in that nickel spot.

It was great to see the Bears finally throwing the ball downfield. Fields looked fantastic on those intermediate plays. Still needs to work on the deep ball.

Opposing QB rating something like 145 when throwing Vildor's way. That's not good.

Last night was a best case scenario.

-Bears lose so the playoffs become even more of a pipe dream, and getting a new coaching staff/GM becomes more of a possibility.

-Refs with some bad calls and some missed calls so there is finger pointing to be done and sports radio calls can be made with vigor.

-12 penalties showing how stupid/undisciplined the Bears are. When a Nagy team has extra time to prepare, they generally shit the bed. They beat Seattle on MNF in 2018, but I think Nagy is 0fer otherwise when having extra time to prepare for a game (coming off a bye, coming off a Thursday, MNF games, and he's 1-3 to start the season). Not all were legit flags, but still. Lining up in the neutral zone is akin to forgetting the number of outs on the baseball field.

-Fields looked really good in the second half, and he had ice water running thru his veins during that final TD drive. He was calm, cool, collected, and seemed to call the plays with authority. He had the look of a veteran QB. And kudos to the OLine for giving him time to get things done late in the game.

At this point, I don't care about the Bears record. I want to see Fields and the offensive guys he will be working with (Mooney, Kmet, Montgomery, Herbert, etc) improve week to week. We've seen that two games in a row. Now rest up, and play well again in a couple weeks where they have two games in five days.

An aside, this taunting shit in the NFL is ridiculous. Rodgers literally curses at the fans and its no flag, but a guy prances around after getting a sack against the team that cut him in the preseason while not saying a word, and its a penalty. Just brutal. I don't blame the refs because they are just following the shit rules which are written by shit people. The amount of flags continues to disrupt the ebb and flow of the game, and takes away the entertainment aspect of it. Its the same as the last 90 seconds or whatever of an NBA game taking 25 minutes with 30 free throws being shot. Its stupid, its boring, and its not what sports should be about.

I hope I'm not the only one who noticed how much better protection was with Montgomery back. That guy was stonewalling rushers the entire night, but more specifically during max protection plays in the 4th quarter. Protection was a knock on Herbert. He still has a lot to learn but blocking is more want than skill, so he can learn.

Kmet has already exceeded last year's production in half a season. I don't see elite with him but I do think he has top 10 TE talent, with occasional pro bowl appearances.

Agree. Nagy said it was 6 of one, half a dozen of the other. That was not the case.

The Hail Mary is called that because its literally a prayer. But sometimes a tip goes your way, or maybe there's a penalty that allows the Bears a chance to kick a makeable Field Goal. Santos' kick would have been good from 58 or 59, maybe even 60. He booted that thing a long way and it was dead straight. He had zero chance of making a 65 yarder.

Even if its a 1% chance of a TD, you put Graham and Kmet on the goal line and throw it up for grabs.

Borom took some lessons from Bahktiari, as he seemed to consistently move at the same time as the snap

Frank is right. Get an offside call and kick closer is a good plan.

Borom seemed to improve as the game moved along and was quite impressive overall. The scouting reports on him were right--he moves his feet very well for someone of his size.

The ref hip checked Marsh and then threw the flag. He should be suspended and investigated for all of his questionable calls in the game and the flags he swallowed.

Not exactly. The 1 sack he "gave up" was a coverage sack.

Can I be equally pissed at the horrific call and the meth head white Defensive End? It was a coverage sack, and slow ass Big Ben ran into him. Take your ass to the bench.

That spin kick was pretty awesome.

Methhead did nothing wrong. He looked in the direction of the people who cut him from about 40 yards away. Terrible, terrible call. And the spin kick was awesome.

Not equally, but you can definitely have a problem with both.
