This may fall flat on its face, but not all of us are Bulls fans only. If you have a team that you follow besides the Bulls, give me an overview of your team. If you only follow the Bulls, give me some predicitons or trade possibilities...

I'm a Sixers fan. Love the acquisition of Brand. I think they'll be a good team this year, they showed promise getting to the playoffs last year and stealing a few from Detroit in that first series.

I don't miss Iverson anymore.

It didn't appear as if the Bulls did all that much in the offseason again, but they drafted Derrick Rose with the #1 pick, and I really like what Derrick will bring as the team's much needed point guard. They also gave Luol Deng a new deal, but Ben Gordon's saga remains unsettled, despite what Owner/Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf told the Sun-Times today. I think the Bulls need to get something done there, and I predict Kirk Hinrich, Larry Hughes and/or Gordon will be gone sometime during the season. While I don't know what to expect from rookie head coach Vinny Del Negro, the Bulls could be right back in the playoff mix as soon as this season, probably among the teams jockeying for the #7 or #8 seed in the East. Another team jockeying for one of the last playoff spots, the Washington Wizards, will be without Gilbert Arenas for the first month or two of the regular season after undergoing surgery for the third time on his knee.

Despite losing Josh Childress to Europe, I'm still looking forward to the Atlanta Hawks season

Their starting five should remain the same- M. Bibby (PG), J. Johnson (SG), M. Williams (SF), J. Smith (PF) and Al Horford (C)

Resigning Smith was huge and headed off a catastrophe. Had they lost both Josh's, the season would have been a disaster

Playing in the lackluster SE conference, I think the Hawks have ample room to improve on last seasons records, which was still under .500 despite making the playoffs. Stretching the eventual champion Celtics to 7 games shows that they have the capability to achieve great things if they can become more consistent.

Key factors headed into the season in my opinion:

1) Bibby. Will we see more of Acie Law or will Bibby continue to handle the bulk of the PG duties? Bibby has obviously lost quite a bit. He's terrible defensively, is beaten off the dribble routinely, and isn't as effective on offense. That said, he still does bring some amount of veteran leadership to a still relatively young team and is still a decent outside shooter. I'm hoping Law shows enough improvement to move into the starting role and relegate Bibby to coming off the bench. Law doesn't seem to have any problem distributing but seems teams sag on him because he needs to improve his mid-range shot.

2) Marvin Williams. Will this guy ever live up to his potential? Certainly shows flashes. I like his game but he has to become more consistent. One night is putting up 18, 7 and 5 the next night 4 points on 2-9 shooting. Tends to disappear for long stretches.

3) The bench. Loss of Childress, easily their best perimeter defender, is huge. They'll have Flip Murray off the bench which will give them some scoring, but nothing close to a good defensive effort. Up front they look weak too. This will be a concern because if anyone should go down w/ an injury, the pickings are slim and it could really be devastating.

4) Josh Smith. Ultimately, this is a crapshoot. We've heard so many things in the offseason- doesn't like Mike Woodson, doesn't want to play for the Hawks....just an unbelievable amount of talent. He really needs to put it all together for the Hawks to have a chance. I don't need to see him try and step outside his game and jack up 3's. Stick to defending off the ball and blocking shots, rebounding and posting up near the basket. I'm not entirely sure he recognizes his limits and I question Woodson's ability to reel him in when necessary

Overall, I seem them making a modest improvement. I predict right around a .500 record, placing them somewhere in the 5-7 range in the East

My much awaited Minnesota Timberwolves preview:

Overview: This is a team with a bit of an identity crisis, imo. They could have went for the home run in keeping Mayo, but decided to trade him for Mike Miller and Kevin Love. Will Miller take away playing time from Rashad McCants? Obviously the Wolves aren't going to be contending for a title this year so I'd like to see them give as much time as possible to their younger players to sort out who will be a keeper and who to get rid of

Probable Starting lineup: Foye (PG), Miller (SG), Carnery/Brewer (SF), Love/C. Smith (PF), Jefferson (C)

Key points/things to look out for:

1) Foye. After missing a good portion of last year I want to see him play a full season. It could be a breakout year for him. He's been averaging in low double-digits scoring. But I can see him getting closer to 16-18ppg this year. He still has an explosive first step and can finish. He'll need to improve his outside shooting. He's also shown that's willing and able to take the clutch shot when the opportunity presents itself. I'm really intrigued at how his season will play out

2) Love. The trade getting Miller I can go either way on....On the one hand, you're getting a sure thing in Miller. He can still shoot and the team lacks a solid outside shooting option so in that regard it was a good pickup. I admit I don't know all that much about Love. I certainly can't see him having as high of a ceiling as O.J. Mayo but if he can at least take some of the pressure off Jefferson down low I'd be happy. On the other hand, I want to see McCants develop and if they're not going to contend, Miller is going to be taking away precious time from him. I can also see why the Wolves might have passed on Mayo, thinking they already have a nice cache of athletic swing players. But that could also have been an opportune time to change the identity of the team- why not make it a run and gun team like the Warriors? If you started Foye, McCants, Mayo and Jefferson (who is pretty agile for a big man) that could be a potentially dangerous lineup

3) McCants. Another enigma. Wildly inconsistent. Will he finally develop?

4) Defense. I actually see the Wolves as being a strong defensive team. Jefferson is a great rebounder and nice shot blocker and as I said earlier hopefully Love will help him down low. Brewer, whether he starts or comes off the bench is a nice, lanky perimeter defender. I'm not sure he'll ever blossom into a big offensive threat but I can see him being a Josh Childress type- a energy type/hustler/good defender coming off the bench. While Love, Craig Smith and Jefferson all lack height they make up for it with some serious size. Not too many people are going to be pushing Smith around. While I'm not predicting they're going to stifle the big frontline players of the West like Duncan, I think they can hold their own.

5) Bench. I actually see the bench as being pretty strong. If you start Miller, you have McCants coming off the bench. You also have either Rodney Carney if you start Brewer or vice versa. I'd start Carney and bring Brewer and McCants in. Gives you a nice scoring option and good defender. Assuming Telfair is still with them he's not a bad backup PG. I don't want him starting necessarily, but he's a solid bench option. Ryan Gomes is another strong backup.

Overall, in the crowded West it's going to be tough. Not at all seeing them making the playoffs, but I do see an improvement on last year's 22 win season. I'm going to say 30+ wins for them, possibly 10th or 11th in the West

marvin and Rashard...someone should do an analysis of the UNC guys who all left together...doesn't look like the Bobcats are going anywhere either with May and Felton...

And City, Larry Brown comes out of retirement to coach the Charlotte Bobcats, only to go back in when they tune him out after a handful of games...Larry will literally age 20 years coaching this team a few years after the disaster that's the New York Knicks...

Wow! Larry Brown will literally age 20 years in only 6 months? So he'll be 88 by the time the season's over? Phenomenal!

Or maybe you meant to use the word "figuratively" instead of "literally." Or maybe not, since you've literally misused the word "literally" several times now.

Figuratively, my brain is literally fried. Literally.

Figuratively speaking, the Charlotte Bobcats' coaching job will age Larry Brown if they get off to a bad start. I'm reminded how miserable things went for Larry when he coached the New York Knicks a few years ago. Speaking of the Knicks, I don't think they'll be much better now that the Cliff Claven (John Ratzenberger)-looking Mike D'Antoni is getting about $6 million a season as their new head coach.
