Today Mr. Holmes gave some Kudos to Stoney for his new TV deal. Stone of course went on to compliment the entire White Sox organization and his comment was "They really know how to treat people over there."

Personally, I felt stone was using that as another chance to take a shot at the Cubs organization and how they treat people.

Caller Tony got on the air (Kudos to Matt Webber, or whoever took the call to get him on the air, because that type of call is severely lacking at the station) and felt the same thing. Tony may not have so eloquent in attacking Stone about it, as he did not repeat what Stone said, but said what he thought Stone implied.

To Tony's credit, I was listening to this with 2 Sox fans and they thought Stone was taking at shot at the Cubs as well , so did I and basically anyone who has been listening to Stone would think the same thing, despite what his exact words were.

And for one of the very few times I agreed with Laurence, or any host, that the caller needed to let the host, or in this case, Stoney reply. Usually most hosts I feel use that as a cop out, not not answer the question (Murph and Bernstein do it often)

Many have accussed Stone of his comments being directed at the Cubs, of which he continues to deny. However, perception becomes reality at some point and I personally think reality is what it is, no perception needed.

I don't think Stone should have his job any longer as baseball expert anymore either as he does have a bias, plus he can;t even watch half of the Cub games?

Today someone called him about Harden and this is about the third time I have heard him try and talk about Harden and each time it is "I didn't get to see him pitch, but from some people I talked to." So the Score is paying Stone for his heresay now?

Thats like having the Bears pregame with Dick Stockton.

when the announcment came out about Stone going to TV, I posted here wondering if SCR would keep stone on as their baseball expert. Does not seem right to me.

I have heard many of Stone's "smart-ass-type" comments directed at the Cubs, and while I think them to be "small" and "petty"...and feel he should get over it....The circumstances surrounding his dismissal (or non-rewal) are / were absurd and I can understand the animosity he probably feels toward them (cubs).

Ummm, "Tony" sounded like a bitter dumbass who had a lot of severe misrecollections.

Without any prior knowledge can I assume Panther is a Sox fan?

I did not hear This exchange on the air, but Stone has been taking pot shots at the Cubs all year.

I don't get mad about it, however it has made me like the guy much much more when he denies having any grudges and denies what he meant by his comments.

I think Stone needs to get over it and I really don't think Stone should return as a baseball analyst.

I heard it and stone was is typical smug self. He didnt really answer the question either, but caller tony called him out on it and I sorta thought stone was pissed they let him on the air.

Stone, as BF, said, has no business doing anything cubs right now, he isnt watching the games, what can he say, all he is doing now is patting himself on the back by saying he predicted the cubs would win the central, they should do well in the playoffs, so did 1,000,000 other people.

I have said this since he was with the cubs, stone is a overrated, arrgoant ex jock who has gotten by stating the obivous and claiming it as his own. If he is sooooo great, why didnt he have a job in baseball before the season started? He got a job only when Singlo left, otherwise he be collecting peanut checks from the score.
