They're not going to fire Nagy because the old lady doesn't want change at this point in her life. She's 98 and it's miracle she's still traveling to away games.

No football considerations trump that, no matter how bad Nagy and Pace are. Anyone who understands old people knows this is true.

Too bad we gave the 1st away in the Fields trade.

Barring an unlikely long winning streak, Nagy will be fired. Pace will gladly throw him under the bus and then move into a new President of Football Ops job.

Currently, the Dolphins (#13 in AFC) and the Jets (#14 in AFC) are in a better position to make the playoffs than the Bears (#15 in NFC.) The only team behind the Bears in the NFC standings are the winless Lions.

Yeah, I don't give a shit about W-L or playoffs at this point either. But I'm reasonably certain that having Nagy around for the final 8 games of this season will not help Fields get better prepared to become an elite QB.

The worse case scenario may be that Fields continues to progress even as the team remains noncompetitive. Then Nagy and his backers could argue that Nagy deserves to stay so he can sustain Field's growth/not waste progress Fields has made in learning a "system".
