I assume pay has gone down dramatically. Do on air personal still have agents? I would assume the max amount the star would make, is there a star in 2021 chi radio be maybe 200K tops?

So an agent makes extremely little. Just curious if anyone knows?

A Cowherd, Rome, National guys make sense.

Chi market, cannot imagine.

I also highly doubt anyone doing Chicago sports radio right now makes 200K. There was some discussion about numbers a while back, and in that discussion, I remember some people throwing out ridiculous numbers.

Kap probably does but he hustles and has like four or five different gigs.

I remember Bernstein had an agent at their 2010 roast to whom he gave a shoutout, but this may have been when he still had asperations of being a national host. As for now, I assume Bernstein still has his agent (for handling payment for all the personal endorsements he does on his own), and maybe a guy like Parkins does for his national work that he's allowed to do, certainly Rahimi has a TV agent who maybe handles her radio stuff as well, but other than that I don't think so. The rest of the lineup seems contented with their lot, and will happily sign whatever paper is put in front of them.

I would guess most all of the prime time hosts do.

Didn't Goff get screwed on his score deal because he didn'tuse an agent? I would assume the prime time guys at least have a lawyer look over their contracts.

Mac had an agent. I assume Kap does. Maybe Roe still does but he is peanuts if he even works

So Bernsie's deal runs thru Feb 22? Curious to see what happens at that point. No way he will keep making that much

Bernstein understands the market and will accept what is offered, which will be decent money because he still is a valuable asset and continues to draw solid ratings.

What is “not that much?”. I’ll bet he’s still around $200k

I thought you were referring to the $1 million figure that’s posted on that stupid credible website.

Just to be generous I would assume there is no person making $250k radio only these days.

I thought I remember some conversation in the past about most of them using Kevin Harlan’s brother as an agent. I think it was Brian Harlan and he has some sort of sports media company.

On a side note, we bought a Mitsubishi Monterrey Sport that was owned by Bryan Harlan back when he was with the Bears. (It was one of those vehicles they provided for free to the staff, although I’m guessing most were provided a bit more upscale rides).

I would assume Bernstein was making 500k in his hey day. With Boers. That was afternoon drive. Probably 200k now. Maybe 150 since he's midday. Radio money isn't what it used to be.

Yeah, Mike North was making a 1.5 million at one point. Then his dumb ass turned down an 800k offer to stay at the SCORE.

It always amazes me that a guy like North would turn down that money. A dumb ass guy that lucked into a radio job. Had a hot dog stand before his break. So he should know the luck he had. Thinking he was big time. Well, he lost.

Yeah, Goff fucked up without having an agent. But I don't blame the fact that he didn't have an agent. I wouldn't either. I would just read the damn contract and negotiate it better by myself. Christ, Goff didn't even know that he wouldn't be paid his full contract when he got fired. That's something I would know.

So North hasn't really worked in 13 and a half years. That's crazy. He must have saved some money from the good days.

He was relatively old already when he started. He had some professional success as a restauranteur that would have put some money in the bank. Remember, he and BeBe were living a decent, middle class life from that hot dog stand. I think he also had a city job long enough to qualify for a small pension (I could be incorrect on that).

I think he lived the good life in his Score days but you have to remember he was glomming everything from restaurants to cars as a not so side hustle.

North had 7 figure years. No one in any local radio will ever see that money again.

Remember when the North's were trying to tout BeBe as an agent? Then she became an exec at the pyramid scheme station while North tried to convince talent to leave their comfortable gigs for the riches of the new station?

the dirty little secret was also that north was pitching time to advertisers then either taking a straight commission for anyone he signed or taking a percentage of an ad salesman's commission for bird dogging the business.

Someone really has to write a book on that entire fiasco

Dont forget that he was also, um, mob-adjacent.
