I’d be shocked by Kelly to lsu, which means it’ll prob happen. He has one of the best jobs out there, particularly when the playoff field expands and ND has a relatively clear path each year. He can’t get over the hump but he also can’t recruit a great QB to save his life.

If it happens ND has to back up the truck for Urban and let him recruit at prisons if he so wishes.

It's happening. Surprised that Meyer didn't take the USC job. Notre Dame would be interesting. Stunned that Kelly left. He must think that he can win the national title at LSU. I don't know how that's an easier path. There is a better recruiting base at LSU, but you have to beat Saban and Georgia to get to the playoffs. He's 60, and he's not getting a ready made title team. I doubt he's more successful there.

I'm sure Notre Dame would have nearly matched the money. LSU dumped a guy his second season after a National Title. I also don't see him getting the benefit of the doubt from boosters down there. I don't see it as a fit.

That's what Saban has done well. He's added more elite offensive talent as of late though. I don't think Kelly is going to out recruit Kiffin or Saban for skill players.

If you're an up and coming coach who receives an offer from Notre Dame and Oklahoma, who do you pick? I know Oklahoma is going to the SEC, but top flight coaches seem attracted to that conference, so I don't think it's a detriment to most of these guys. Therefore, I would have to think that Oklahoma has a leg up.
