His offenses have consistently been bottom 5, cratered to rock bottom early this year, most teams would fire the OC, but when your coach is your OC you need to move along.

The defense is the main reason the team is competitive and Nagy self admittedly does not really pay attention to the defense.

Am hearing a lot of, "Bears are still in the hunt", crap on sports talk radio, so that is likely the line being trotted out there by the team, chumming the water for a possible Nagy return.

The running game is top 5 to 10 this year. That's a significant improvement. Especially for those who want the Bears to run the ball. I personally would love to see an explosive passing game in the 21st century.

As always, I love the optimism, but team is bottom 5 overall and last by 20 YPG in passing offense, trailing the Texans who I think started Nas a few weeks ago at QB?

Nagy was brought in as an offensive genius, but his offense has been bottom third for the past several seasons. He also despises the run, so the teams ranking in that area is solely because Lazor mercifully ended Nagy's tenure as one of the worst in game play callers in the league.

I do agree with Hoodie in that Pace is the primary problem, but Nagy likely has a great deal of input in offensive roster construction and picks the guys that get the most snaps, so he does have culpability for the offenses failures.

That said, the teams long term future is completely dependent upon the develop of Justin Fields, a franchise QB makes everything else easier, so go out and find the guy that can build a roster around him and a HC that recognized his strengths and develops game plans that take advantage of his abilities.

Seattle is pretty tough at home.

Can't agree with this. Nagy was broken before the double doink, right? In that same playoff game, you had all the hallmarks of the Nagy era. 0 TDs in the first half. Defense bends then breaks at the worst possible time. (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky has a brief flash of brilliance when the Eagles are sleeping. In hindsight, how the living fuck did you lose to Nick Foles with that defense and team?

It's still absolutely mind blowing that Nagy is something like 0-8 or 0-9 if you take the first two games of the season or first two games off the bye. You'd think the Bears would have backed into at least one win after getting healthy and having time to prepare for an opponent.

I would take it a step further. Nagy was never really all that great. What was the Bears offensive ranking in 2018? Somewhere around 20, right? And that was his high-water mark.

whatever blame percentage he deserves for this OL is on him. But his offense, goofy as it is, would work with a good OL and better WR. This to me still falls back to Pace moreso than Nagy. If they don't replace Pace with a guy that knows how to draft OL and DL we will never get better.
