I have to agree, they need to find someone to do the cubs stuff, stone is just repeating himself now when it comes to the cubs, but thats his thing anyway, never been a stone fan. I read somewhere that he was talking with ricketts (possible new cub owner) about a constultant job if he gets the team, but the sox were putting pressure on him to sign. Personally, I am glad he didnt come back to the cubs.

I don't have a big problem with Stone continuing to take questions on the Cubs. He knows the game, and while he doesn't watch games as much as one would like, he knows what's going on. Saying that, I wouldn't be opposed to seeing them add a Dan Pleasac type weekly guest to the mix.

I agree. But maybe he's just there to balance out Murph and his Cub love.

bringing back Jim would be brilliant, but costly in the meds department...

I miss Piersall and his quotables. I remember when he couldn't remember players' names. He called Damaso Marte "Manatee" and called Mike Remlinger "Remington" and "Medlinger." And my personal favorite was when he referred to Bob Howry as "Howie."

Thats fucking special

That even tops Jerry Manuel talking about the Phillies in interleague placy back in 2003: "Well we don't really know too much about them. They have some good young players like 'a brew' and Johnny Rollins"

Could not agree more. His reports lack content and are just general statements with doses of "I ddin't see the Cubs game"

This should be one of the easiest decissions to make for Mitch. You can't bring this guy back to not see games and then comment on them.

Plesac might actually be great. He has a great sense of humor that does not come out on Comcast
