It's mostly a side dish and decent depending where you go. The most common is the brownish kind with chickpeas as a base. Other kinds use fava beans as the base and they come out green. Try it with tahini and/or hummus as a dip.

best kitchen in the world is the mediterranean kitchen. i'll take olive oil, garlic, lemon and oregano over sumac, za'tar and baharat. i've had arabic coffee and they even put spices in their coffee.

I like za'atar

My favorites are Italian, French, NE US, and Midwest US food.

Taza on Franklin St. has a pretty good falafel sandwich, but wouldn't go out of my way for it. Falafel is usually a tasteless puck of crap at most places I've tried it.

The original Pita Inn on Dempster and the Naf Naf at 355/Naperville Rd (might be RIP) had good falafel as long as you didn't do carry out.

i was just going to post about the original Pita Inn from the 80s/90s on Dempster. That shit was really good. That yellow rice was what made it perfect.

Pita Inn had a great, affordable lunch. You got a huge plate for like $5. Haven't been there in a long time though.
