Mack will be back. That’s probably it though. Not sure how you could invest that much money on an aging defense when the offense needs so much attention.

They renegotiated his contract to free up room this year but his cap hit goes up significantly next season ($17M+) so it’s becomes a question of whether they are rebuilding or not. Also, Quinn hasn’t put together 2 good seasons in a row for a while.

Edit: Although the contract Quinn signed with the Bears last year is up to five years in length, it becomes much easier, financially, to cut Quinn after the 2021 season. The Bears could save $6.7 million against the 2022 salary cap if they cut him after the season, according to OverTheCap.com.
