This was actually the case for Don Cherry as well. Until the late nineties, the chief selling point of the NFL, it's promoters and every broadcast partner promoted that to the hilt. I think that the only person ostracized was Jack Tatum. And now you have guys like Brady bitching and moaning about hits outside of a tiny area. It's changed the game for the inarguably worse imho.

Steelers will always be my second team. Had a helmet and jersey as a kid (as well as a sweet pirates gear collection) that my grandmother gave me. There are times I wonder if I had stayed out west I’d I could of converted to an AFC fan. It’s not so easy to switch but the move might of helped.

I was instilled very early in life with a dislike of Dallas as well. Reader might be a cousin is all I’m saying.

I liked All Madden a lot but in the age of overblown bloated 8-episode miniseries structured for Netflix, how was this only basically a one-hour special? I would’ve liked to see more clips of his broadcasts.

I don't know if I mentioned this earlier. But ESPN did a podcast on the development of the Madden football game.

I thought it was very interesting. One of the guys was in that All Madden doc briefly.
