Eras are so different. How many pass plays a game during Dent's prime? Cut blocks and the like. On the plus side they were able to murder the QB if they got to them so he did have that going for him.Hell of a season for Quinn, don't get me wrong but I don't think football lends itself well to these comparisons with 20-30 year gaps between them.

That’s fair enough but as someone who saw both of these guys play, Quinn isn’t in the same league as Dent as a player.

My memory of Dent is him being a better player as well. This might be impacted by nostalgia and how awful Quinn was last year but it is what it is.

Yes. He doesn't need Hicks, a lead or an elite edge rusher on the opposite side to be effective.

The entire game was NFL's version of garbage time, Giants especially seemed more interested in padding Barkley's stats than actually competing.

Still cannot understand why there are no screens or why the RB's, especially Montgomery, are not used in the passing game. Lack of speed/ability at the TE position continues to stand out, cannot wait until next year when they take another look at that position and upgrade the group, the fact they paid and kept Graham around this year is one of Pace's strangest decisions. Team needs 2-3 WR's, most importantly a #1 guy that can either win or draw PI penalties on some of the 50/50 balls Fields puts up.

No screens, no passes to RBs, very few rollouts/sprint outs, little play action. But many outside runs to the short side of the field and many lateral rather than vertical passes. What a bizarre offense.

Unproven rookies and second year players, alongside final year contracted players play well against one of the very few rosters worse than the bears. Wow Nagy is such a leader. All of the bullshit we witnessed the past two years is negated by a meaningless win over the Mike Glennon Giants.

hey god if you're listening there needs to be a mike glennon era in NYC. break their back and make them humble!

My God the Giants are a horrible team.

Aside from the Rooney family, there aren't any long time family owned teams in the last half century.

And until they hired Payton, I'd include the Saints.

Bidwell family with the Cardinals

It's not that this team doesn't run screens, it is that they are pathetic when it comes to execution. Really boggles the mind how one organization can be so inept at one specific thing (that and not finding QBs)

It's like the football gods discussed and said "whoa whoa whoa have you seen how many Middle Linebackers we've sent down to Chicago?"

"OK uh, lets see, no screen passes for a half century"

"OK that seems like a fair trade off"

Just saw a factoid that in the last two minutes of the first half this year, the Giants have been outscored 76-0.

Yes. He doesn't need Hicks, a lead or an elite edge rusher on the opposite side to be effective.

Also, he's not nearly as "bendy".

on a line packed with All Pro's and HOF, Dent was arguably the most impactful of the group.

Right. Dent is in the HOF for a reason. Still, Quinn is not some scrub player who all of a sudden lucked into 18+ sacks. The dude is a beast and has been for a while in the league.

If you want to look at the Bears top ten seasons in sacks and try to find a scrub amongst the group, you can bring up Mark Anderson.
