I wouldn't touch his tree.

Can he even find his tree, as Uncle Terry used to say about Bill Parcells, who is likely is within a belt notch or two of Reid, "That's the biggest pair of pants I've ever seen".

Reid lost a lot of weight a few years ago and he appears to have gained it back.

Gallup and Godwin.

The best bet is probably to draft someone high. There will be a good WR there in the second.

Fill in with a guy like Emmanuel Sanders. Christian Kirk is a guy who I think could break out with the right team. He has been stuck behind greatness in Arizona.

Idk. Why not grab 2-3 from the below list and use the pick on O-line.

Kirk
Gage
JuJu
Nick Westbrook
Kirk
Jacobi Meyers
DJ Chark
Lazard
Valdes Scantling
Pascal

There are a couple of guys on that list who I think have #1 potential. Juju was already there for a brief period of time. Kirk has that ability. I really like DJ Chark as well. Kirk is the only one without injury concerns.

Will be quite interested to see how the next regime approaches roster construction.

The Giants and Bears gave you a great example of how not to construct an NFL team. You must invest early and often in the Oline, teams that do that like the Cowboys and Colts can hang in games because they can protect the QB.

Of course whiffing repeatedly at the QB position doesn't help, throwing bad paper at guys like Mike Glennon while not drafting developmental QBs at least every other year is another bad move.

If the new group is able to cut or move some overpaid vets and invest that money/draft capital into building the team from both lines out it will not be the sexiest approach, but will likely be the most effective.

I think Barkley's injury set the Giants back. Offensive incompetence is the Bears problem.

After hearing the new HC and GM it sounds like they will be upgrading the oline, expect much bigger and more physical guys at C and one of the OG positions along with TE, and of course WR.

Defensively he sounds like a carbon copy of Lovie, guys that do not hustle to the ball will be gone, wonder what that does for a few of the current defensive players on the roster who are not exactly the most team-oriented guys around, expect an unexpected vet or two to be launched.

We'd have to do a wellness check if you of all people weren't optimistic.

Drinking your Bears Kool Aide on this one, they will likely improve the team immensely by simply getting back to basic football.

I'd be worried of Nas wasn't optimistic
I heard about 20 minutes of the presser...it was a bunch of the same blah blah blah. We will find out what we have soon enough. Starting with the results of the draft.

A center and either a LG or LT, and a big run stopping DT. I'd like to see them set up in a faux-46 in some packages with both Mack and Quinn over the TE for a year and dare teams to throw the ball and get their quarterbacks killed by halftime, while Roquan plays the Singletary role with better speed.

Mack has become injury prone and will be 31 next season. Quinn has been an up and down player the last several years and will be 32. That's a small window.

Also - Roquan is already a better player than Singletary.

Watched a few Colts games and they looked to mix it up on D quite often, more stunts and LB blitzes than we have seen for a while. The D did pretty well in most of the games, much more physical, good gap control, and more sound tackling, nobody standing around watching in the secondary like last years Bears D.

Urlacher was the prototype MLB for Lovie's cover-2, it does seem Roquan should be able to cover the middle, but he is nowhere near as big as Urlacher, but that position is at least in place for a base Cover-2.

There is no Mike Brown type and they are hard to find.

Would think they will go out and bring in a DT via FA along with oline and WR. Can Mack and Quinn put a hand on the ground and play DE?

Interesting to hear the Poles interview on WMVP which was far superior to Larry on the score, in that interview he indicated that he likes the second wave of free agency because you get value and can fill more positions. Thinking maybe they go with the 2nd best dudes at C, DT, WR, CB, and TE. They could turn the cap room into numerous upgrades at several positions if they are smart, maybe take a shot at a WR with number one traits in second round?

I don't think they could do it continuously, but for Mack's last year and potentially limited health, it would be an option for at least a percentage of plays.

The Chiefs game was a great example of what teams are going to do against Fields next year. They are going to spy Fields and not let him run. Unlike the Chiefs with Kelce and Hill, they have maybe one WR who can make plays. So, teams are going to keep Fields in the pocket, cover Mooney and make him play QB, find the open guy and make the throw.

Wish list

A #1 Wide Receiver.
A slot receiver
A tight end that makes plays

have to get Gipson more substantive snaps in pass rushing situations. I hope Eberflus can get creative in getting all three of them on the field for passing downs

Gipson showed some ability as a pass rusher last season, but will have to get a little stronger to play DE, especially against the run. Wondering who the new staff will put at SLB and WLB, Roquan as the ability to cover the middle, but is there a guy stout enough to play the strong side on the roster?

Reading articles indicating there should be 30-40 million in cap room available, maybe more if Poles can pull off a trade, this should be enough to upgrade several positions on offense if used wisely.

Several "Off Season Mocks" had Poles signing veterans at C and LT which makes sense because you then keep Whitehair who is at best a replacement level guy, let Daniels go, and let put Jenkins at RT and Borom at G.

Might be able to get a second tier WR in FA, but need to find one somewhere in the draft that can actually play, seemed like Pace drafted 10 WR's and only hit on Mooney, hard to imagine Poles doing worse in the draft at skilled positions than Pace.

Poles has said he prefers to do his free agent work on the secondary market.

They need a home run at WR. Nearly all developing QBs have more success if they have a legitimate #1. Getting Fields a legit #1 has to be the first order of business.
