I know this won't be popular but I still think there is a player in Vildor at the nickel position. Obviously you keep him because he's on a rookie contract.

Easier to list what we really need..

The Bears really need a better Center, #1 WR, a slot WR, another ILB, and a Nickel Corner.. I’d also like to see another developmental QB prospect on the roster outside of Fields.

Obviously there’s other needs but I think these can be easily filled with our 1st few draft picks

After all these huge swings on QBs from Pace (Glennon, (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky, Dalton and Fields), he's probably going to offer Sam Darnold a major deal plus trade all 2023 picks to move up to draft a other QB this year in the second round.

Based upon a hand full of snaps yesterday?

Yeah, it's too bad about Hicks' injury issues. He's still dominant when healthy--but he's just not healthy often enough to count on. What a great player he's been.

I don't think the market will pay him a significant amount of money. I think we can get him for 2 more years at a reasonable price. He also doesn't have to have the same workload. He gets teary-eyed when talking about possibly leaving Chicago.

Hicks practically begged for an extension and the Bears had no interest. He's 32 and wouldn't be around when they complete the rebuild so why bother. He's gone and he knows it.

The Bears would have been bidding against themselves. I'm okay with allowing the market to dictate his salary. I don't think the Bears are that far away and you need high character veterans around young players.

According to a report from Adam Jahns, Hicks got in a fight with defensive line coach Chris Rumph during, and after, last week’s Giants game.
“It was characterized as ‘heated and ugly,’” Jahns wrote. “Coaches, teammates and staff members witnessed the exchange.”
Hicks was absent at all three days of Bears practice last week with an ankle injury. According to Jahns, he wasn’t even at Halas Hall, and didn’t make the trip to Minneapolis for the season finale either.
If a Hicks reunion in Chicago was unlikely before, now it seems completely out of the question.

Sounds like an argument and not an actual fight.

separation anxiety

Hicks is a good guy, was a great player and wanted to return. It's understandable
