No. She's a nice lady.

Had to be nice for her that she never had to worry about money. Born into this NFL cash cow. That's one of the reasons you make it to 99. Not so much stress in her life. Same with all of her kids that decided to not learn anything about football other then cashing checks. That's not a criticism. Just saying she and her kids were lucky.

Good for her and her long life.

I've got a question. We never hear anything about the grandkids of Virginia. They have to be in their 30s or 40s by now. They'll be taking over shortly. Do those kids have any football knowledge? I never hear about them.

I was just told this story the other night by an impeccable source. And it's so Bears.

Pace had been negotiating with the Raiders to get Mack.

They had come to an agreement on trade compensation, and he was negotiating with Mack's agent on a contract. They reached agreement on the final numbers and he calls George McCaskey for the ok on the money.

George is in WI and is in an area where his phone keeps cutting out. Pace can even finish a conversation with him. George mentions his mom, so Pace hangs up and calls her before the deal disappears.

"Mrs McCaskey I have a trade on the table to get the best defensive player in the NFL, but I need approval on the contract numbers."

She replies," You have a chance to get Khalil Mack? Just make the trade and don't worry about the financial cost."

I’m not going to wish anything bad on her. She’s the 1st lady of football. Sucks that her sons aren’t worth a bag of hammers but it is what it is.

BTW - what was her 'real' relationship with Brian Piccalo? I thought it was always innocent but not sure anymore.

I'm surprised she knew who non-Bear Khalil Mack was. That's impressive - very different than what I assumed. No sarcasm/snark.

This is kind of an interesting video of the 1986 NFC championship trophy presentation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQ2lh24wQoE.

She seems like a pretty cool lady who really likes the Bears. There's quite a striking physical resemblance between her and her father.

Hard to believe that this was 36 years ago and she was still old as fuck even back then.

Even scarier to see the aging of Ditka, who looks manly here and is near death now. Getting old sucks.

So very true.

My wife saw her last month and said she still looks like her old cheerful self.

I never doubted that George Halas or Virginia love the Bears and want them to win.

It ended at that generation....the real fire about who the Bears are.

Ehh....

I think its pretty safe to say that Michael or George want the Bears to win as well. They're just dolts and fucking clueless as to how to build an organization that has sustained success.

Yeah, great throw rolling to the left for the TD! I believe Bernstein says that McMahon wouldn't excel in today's game, but I am convinced he would be really good. Talk about a high football IQ--that guy had one.

I had forgotten how imposing Ditka was in his prime. This video is a pretty good reminder of that.

Would of been more protected from some of the hits he took. Still left himself exposed to much.

Let me restate. They all want them to win.

Virginia grew up with George. She understands. It's the telephone game. You can talk about their Grandfather to your kids but it's not the same as growing up with him and understanding the intensity of it.

I think they want to win as well, but are completely delusional.
Again we go back to Ted Phillips involvement with the team. Yes was an improvement from Michael, but this value should be much worth more than it currently stands. Ted's a dope. I'm sorry Michael and George are bigger dopes.
