Are you talking about Shane originally leaving the company? Can you elaborate a little more?

Vince sided with Steph/HHH instead of Shane in the power struggle that occurred about ten years ago. Funny that Nick Khan now has more power and influence than Steph/HHH do now.

Watch Succession but picture the McMahon family.

Logan is Vince, Tom and Shiv are HHH and Stephanie, with Cousin Greg as HBK.

Makes it enjoyable on a whole other level.

I can't wait to see how WWE fucks him up when he gets to the main roster. Probably job him out to Veer.

Interesting approach to the Lucha guy breaking his arm. The announce team either did not notice, or was told not to mention it and to instead go to random shots of guys in the crowd?

It was odd because you could clearly see his arm bending in the wrong direction and him quickly pointing out the fact that his arm was clearly broken.

You could notice a marked effort to return to storytelling and more physical matches with fewer random finishing moves and more actual wrestling, but the tag team match was more like the original AEW where a bunch of little guys were trying to do some type of planned trampoline park routine.

Yeah I didn't enjoy the match, and on top of that the stupid table spot which led to Fenix breaking his arm.

Announcers obviously were told to not mention it, and the end with the tag teams lining up on stage was called on the fly to cover for it as well.

If Luke Perry's kid starts hitting the side of the gym with the free weights he should go somewhere, perfect babyface look. He's like a lot of the opening to mid card guys that made up the early AEW roster, no amateur background and it shows, little understanding of ring psychology, just goes from high spot to high spot, but with proper mentorship he should make money for years in the business.

In many ways the Wardlow vs Punk match is a key spot for AEW, a chance to really put Wardlow over while building the only really interesting angle they have going.

Wardlow looks like he's gonna be in a Shawn Spears feud eventually before moving on to anything else.

And yeah Jungle Boy was pure indy when he started. He's bulked up a little already, and seems to be learning more about how to really work. He should be a singles champion by years end. Not the main belt, but the TNT Championship.

He's working his way into a trailer park version of Evolution

Cody = HHH
Flair = Arn
Orton = Brock Anderson or Lee Johnson
Batista = TBD

Brandi can go away and never appear on TV again unless she's in a bikini.

WWE womens division has been good since they ditched the divas BS with exceptions of course. bellas, paige, all that shit was boring AF. Even with talents like charlotte, lynch and bailey, its still too often clunky as hell and every damn spot is telegraphed or bungled because someone's timing is off or theyre out of position.

nikki cross and sasha primarily come to mind as two of the worst repeat offenders. but theres plenty more

Lynch and Charlotte have had some good matches, but I just cannot take the womens division seriously. I have tried and I just can't buy it.

Wardlow looks like he's gonna be in a Shawn Spears feud eventually before moving on to anything else.

Do see a ton more traditional pro wrestling as the AEW roster gains talent, the gimmick dudes who are apparently pals with the owner are slowly being rotated out of the main shows as they should be to allow the AEW to move beyond the indie fans and into the much larger traditional pro wrestling audience.

The danger involved with indie guys doing matches that go from high spot to high spot with no real flow or psychology was evident in the lucha guys vs Luke Perry's kid and the cosplay goof that wears the dragon mask and coats his tongue with green food coloring. There were several stops and starts because there was little set up for the spots, a few near disasters, then eventually you got the botch by the cosplay goof leading to the lucha guy dislocating his elbow and the awkward camera shots of guys like Y2J staring randomly into space to divert the camera from the ringside area. May as well sell the injury, sure the look with the guys arm facing the wrong direction was graphic and could have been avoided, but at least a mention that the guy was hurt, would have given much needed credibility to your product, but likely did not want to embarrass the cosplay guy.

And yeah Jungle Boy was pure indy when he started. He's bulked up a little already, and seems to be learning more about how to really work. He should be a singles champion by years end. Not the main belt, but the TNT Championship.

Royal Rumble is on a Saturday this year.

Some "legends" announced for the women's rumble; Rousey rumored to be appearing.

Lashley v Lesnar for the Raw title
Reigns v Rollins for the Smackdown title

i watched a few mins of smackdown last night and was lost during the sami zayn promo. i wanted to see AEW rampage but i was distracted by "doing my own thing" --- seeing as i just survived 3-4 days of seriously-thought-i-had-covid (but didnt) super-labored breathing like i could barely walk from my room to the bathroom without breaking into a sweat nad panting like a dog and i had to lay on my side and listen to a ~70hr marathon of the jim cornette expeirence and drive thru (basically ranging from last summer to thanksgiving/ish with the grand finale being the 7hr40min omnibus of vince mcmahon stories) mannnn.... i really wanted to watch and give the shows a shot but i'm not quite there yet. fortunately my pimpin JC Drive Thru shirt came in the mail early on in my life-crisis so it was like a divine nudge telling me which cult to roll with in my time of need and crisis.

The McMahon omnibus was very entertaining if you hadn't heard those clips before.

Royal Rumble was pretty good last night.

Reigns got heel heat back by attacking Seth.

Women's rumble was pretty entertaining with "legend" appearances, especially Molly Holly and RTC Ivory. Rousey came back and won it.

Becky/Doudrop was good for the place it was put in.

Edge/Beth v Miz/Maryse was good.

Lesnar v Lashley was a nice little swerve with Heyman turning on Lesnar and going back with Reigns.

Men's Rumble was fine; wasn't expecting any legend returns and it makes sense for Lesnar to win it, setting up at least a Lesnar/Reigns showdown at Wrestlemania.

It was average.

Men's Rumble was garbage.

Women's Rumble was average.

Rollins-Reigns was good.

Lashley-Brock was good.

Copelands-Mizes was fine.

Doudrop-Becky was good.

my dad was saying MLW is suing WWE cuz the E is trying to block AEW from using bigger venues like the united center and whatnot, plus court bauer is pissed that WWE is sitting on sooooo much talent? dayom. gotta pull for a guy from the bauer & pollock podcast!

The other part of the story is MLW believes they have proof that WWE interfered with/poisoned deals MLW had pending with TV and streaming services.

Rumble was a big letdown this year. Other than Rousey’s hugely-rumored return, there were no big surprises in either Rumble match, and no real storyline movement (other than Brock/Reigns/Herman, which was the expectation big story going with bro Mania).

The non-Rumble matches were OK-to-good.
