This is as laughably stupid as the greatness of Dan Fouts. Never would these two get along on the same staff. 2 different defensive philosophies.

I'm all for Fangio coming back. I'd also like to see the HC be a QB guy. Daboll from Buffalo would be good. I'm intrigued by Byron Leftwich...but only if he brings a good QB guy with him...he did decent work with Jameis Winston, but he's had Tom Brady the last 2 years, so yeah.

Lovie almost had a ring. Does that count?

I actually wish Lovie were back. That would make everyone happy. Why not give him an interview?

The Yankees did it with Billy Martin.

I bring back Wannstedt before Lovie. Lovie showed he was bad in Tampa and didn't exactly do great at Illinois.

Lovie was not a college coach and not a recruiter. His whole recruiting plan was wrong bringing up half the roster from Texas.

Do you think kids from Texas want to play in cold Illinois far away from their home state?

I miss the Lovie days, beating the Packers and winning. Remember when he said his 1st priority was to beat the Packers? He at least did that.

Plus, I think Lovie would have learned from his mistakes by now. And he wouldn't have to deal with Cutler's shenanigans.

8-11 isn't necessarily beating the Packers...he just didn't do as poorly against them

He had a great run before Cutler arrived. Then we were just hoping to not be down 30 at the end of the first quarter.

Better defense, too...and the downswing of the Packers....end of the Favre era.

Why would Lovie have to be fixed in his defensive philosophy? He doesn't. Nor would Fangio have to be fixed in his.

I'm sure they could find agreement.
