I'm loyal to Brady but I wouldn't complain if that happened.

I think I could be good with a Bills double dip and go with Schoen at GM and Daboll at HC

Why would any GM candidate really want to deal with this fucked up family?

You have to take one of these jobs whenever you get an opportunity. Things can change quickly. Besides, it pays really well, and if you are really fortunate, you may become a legend in the greatest sports city in the world.

I actually think that the Bears can turn things around quickly. They had one of the toughest schedules in the NFL, a bunch of instability at quarterback, a lot of covid issues with key players, same with injuries and they faced 3 or 4 teams that were coming off a bye or extended rest.

Offensively, if they can find someone who is competent, I think we could have a shot at winning the division. Even if Rodgers stays in Green Bay.

32 jobs, a couple openings each year, very small windows for most people unless you want to end up like Khan in Pittsburgh…

Take the money, live in a huge house in the northern burbs, get a decade of job security no matter how incompetent you may be, charter franchise, your bosses are inept 3rd generation family members, accountants, party planners and professional snitches, Arlington Heights will have a casino…the list goes on.

Supposedly Matt Campbell turned down 8 years/68.5 mil offer to be the Lions HC. Lions sources later denied the report; but they also claimed that Dan Campbell was their #1 choice from the get, so who knows. Does seem somewhat ridiculous that Campbell would turn down doubling his Iowa State salary and joining the ranks of NFL coaches, even if it's the hopeless Lions.

And total autonomy.

If you have a lot of confidence in your abilities and your plan, you will have free reign to implement them.

A smart GM could easily upgrade or at least bring in more consistent players at C, LT, WR, TE, and DT, but will need several hits in the draft, which is entirely possible. A few of the names they are talking to are being described as having completely different player evaluation strategies than Pace, which is an automatic major upgrade, especially when it comes to drafting offensive players.

It is interesting to read all the stuff coming out about how the team did not have the positive locker room culture being sold by the team lackeys in the media, the sports talk media in Chicago is incredibly soft these days, there is really no reason to listen because they are watching imaginary games and are either choosing not to report negative stories because they are unable/unwilling to dig, or they know what's happening are deciding to cover for the team and are not reporting it, which is a rather odd choice given everyone sees the disfunction and incompetence on gameday.

Not the least bit surprised.

He did well with what was handed to him.

Do we have any details about when they contacted him?

I believe Hub said it happened a couple of weeks ago. Supposedly, it was just to get a feel for what he may want to do. It sounds like Harbaugh doesn't really know.

Why is Kliff Kingsbury still employed? Kevin Stefanski? These guys have underperformed and failed to get the most out of very talented rosters every year.

Cool. If we hire Flores as HC, we can get one of those guys to be our OC after he fires his first Bears OC at the end of next season.

Does that happen after he tells ownership to trade Fields and then complains about them trading Fields?

There were Vikings fans bemoaning the fact that they let Stefanski go to the Browns. Many in the fanbase thought they should have fired Zimmer and gave Stefanski the Vikings job once the Browns showed interest.

Eberflus is a finalist the SCORE put out. Thats an odd one to be the first listed as a finalist. Who else is a finalist?

Dick Jauron and a 40 lb bag of top soil.

They must be trying to compete with the Jaguars. He has offensive and defensive experience, but his time as an assistant and coordinator has been underwhelming. I hope that we don't bite on a guy who is GREAT at interviewing, but average at best when it comes to doing his job.

Eberflus is kind of similar to Daboll in that he is not an adherent to a particular scheme, but instead develops his approach around the strengths of his players. Sounds like an interesting guy.

I'm perfectly fine with his flexibility, however, he hasn't exactly had success as an assistant or a coordinator. The league thinks very highly of him so maybe there is something that the numbers aren't telling.

I do like that quality in him. Maybe he is someone who deserves more consideration

Eburfus must have nailed his correct pronouns in the interview and knocked the socks off the Diversity and Equity Director. This is gonna be the "wokest" hire the Bears have ever made.
