Dodds and Flores would be just what this organization needs.

Read that the Bears were impressed with Flores during joint practices because he ran a tight practice making sure everyone paid attention to details while Nagy had a reputation for running sloppy practices, very damning indictment of Nagy's incompetence, which was readily evident on gameday.

The more stuff I read about Nagy, the more optimistic I am that the team can show drastic improvement offensively by just having a competent head coach.

The article also described Pace as a beta male, who avoided direct conversations and confrontation while the Dodds dude sounds like a red ass lunatic, this franchise could certainly use someone that will hold people accountable, sounds like no club dub or be you with this guy.

Was Dodds part of the think tank that thought it would be a good idea to trade for Wentz? What have the Colts accomplished of late? Outside of being less shitty than the Bears?

I would be pleased with this combo.....but I don't see it happening. Harbough is my preferred Head coach with Flores #2. I don't see them hiring either.

A more likely result is the Bears selecting Eliot Wolf and Leslie Frazier.

Khan and Bienemy.

Lightning couldn't strike twice with another KC offensive coordinator.

Right??

Flores also can’t put together an offense to save his life, and has shown Zero acumen for finding OC’s that are competent. No one he winds up working with seems to like him after a season or so either.

No thanks.

Give me Harbaugh and Vic Fangio as DC..

I’d say yes because Reid most likely calls most of the plays. I’d stay away from Bienemy -he doesn’t interview well because he doesn’t have Reid holding his hand in those situations, and most likely has trouble breaking everything down in a manner the people asking the questions are satisfied with. I think that knock on him is very telling.

Leftwich interests me more if you’re going this route -he definitely schemed and called plays with Winston (having a decent but odd season).. and most likely does a lot of the same with Brady but with more collaboration. I think Byron has a legit football mind, not sure how good he is, but he understands the game for sure.

There are a few combos I would be good with.

Smith and Flores or Smith and Daboll are probably my top 2. Dodds seems good too.

Good with Harbaugh as well, but it dont seem like that is going to happen.

Schoen and Khan would also be acceptable as the GM

You just described Matt Nagy perfectly, give me a red ass dude that is detail oriented and makes everyone in the organization accountable.

No way Harbaugh comes here, and while I would love Vic to come back, that ship has likely sailed.

I don't think Harbaugh is available.

No, I literally just described Flores. Those results speak for themselves. He’s a volatile train wreck who has no competence when choosing coaches to lead his offenses. If he came here the Bears would hover around .500 every year with no offense to speak of and everyone unfortunate enough to work with him would hate him. Why on Earth would you want to see that..?

As for Harbaugh.. maybe he will maybe he won’t.. but the spirit of the thread seems to be ‘who are your two guys’ and those would be my top two

Yeah, the more I hear about Flores, the less I like him. Apparently, he wasn't even talking to a lot of his assistant coaches for the last couple months of the season. And the way he handled his offensive coordinators was ridiculous. His coaching style just doesn't seem sustainable, and his personality strikes me as unstable. This isn't the kind of guy I'd put in charge of developing a young quarterback--or anything else for that matter. Maybe I'm wrong and he'll turn out to be the next Belichick. But he's not worth the risk in my opinion.

Add the fact that he’s openly communicating with DeShaun Watson and trying to find a landing spot for them both to wind up together and you have a disaster in the making.

Imagine trading Fields to get Watson just in time for Watson to be charged in all these cases and not be available to play football..? If these reports are true, not only is Flores an unstable hothead, but he’s also a complete moron on top of that. And last I checked being angry and stupid is a poor combination of traits.

Everyone here that wants Flores needs to do a lot more research and reading.

The Belichick and Reid tree have far too many candidates. I would prefer to avoid all of those guys. Daboll is from the Belichick tree.

Morocco Brown is my GM. If I can't get Harbaugh as my head coach, I'll take Bowles, Pedersen or Quinn. In that order.

They'll probably go with the former Bear.

I have reservations about Daboll too, but he seems to have changed his coaching style quite a bit after earning a reputation as a dogmatic hardass earlier in his career.

He's now known as much more of a flexible, open minded coach who solicits input from his players and has built a unique offensive scheme around the strengths of his quarterback.

I very much like that kind of grounded, pragmatic approach to coaching and personnel management.

I like him more and more after reading about him. He seems like a guy who has shown real growth. He has been around a lot of successful coaches. He has done good things with a young QB.

Morocco Brown and Nathaniel Hackett, the OC from the Packers. They need an offense that doesn't have designed run plays as Fields has shown he is prone to injuries. Rodgers runs when he needs to, but they avoid putting him at risk. Brown needs to find them a #1 receiver among other needs.

Yeah, he seems to have learned a lot and changed his approach accordingly. There's a lot to like about him.

That isn't my pair, but given the Bears history I expect some sort of pairing like this.

I don't actually hate the idea of Frazier as Head Coach. There are better options, but there are considerably worse. I'm more concerned about them picking a GM and then letting HIM hire the right head coach and supporting staff.

Wanny said this morning that assuming Harbaugh is off the table then they should hire Daboll immediately.

Daboll has an interesting coaching history - some pretty bad stints with Cleveland & KC (in particular) followed by his recent success with Allen & the Bills.
