Im was not a big Strange fan, like I was with Capt, but he is growing on me. The one thing that Marvel does well is run threads and intertwine the meta plots. DC should try it sometime.

I have not figured out what DCs issue is yet. I mean, I don't wanna see that woke as shit with Birds of Prey. Maybe Black Adam is a turn for DC.

I mean there is good Dc product out there that did what Marvel did. it was done on the small screen,Arrowverse. That is until they blew it when people didn't want to keep doing it after 9 years. Hell,they had the perfect way to continue Arrow and they just said fuck it.
Plus, the whole recasting thing is easier in DC as they actually cross timelines (Multiverse),Hell they even admit that the Marvel verse exists in the DC multiverse. The problem with all the superhero movies now is that every role has to be cast with a star. When Superman came out in the 70's the only star was Brando.
DC missed a huge opportunity IMO, when they wanted to restart Batman they should have just picked up where Gotham left off or at least kept the people playing the villains.

The problem with establishing during tv series then trying to carry those roles on in the movies is that people need to be familiar with the tv product. I like watching the superhero movies, but I'm going to nope right out of something that I need to catch up on 3-7 seasons of a tv series that I don't have time to watch anyway just to see a 2 hour movie.

To me, part of DC's problem is that they've continually made wrong decisions about who is going to handle said films (Zack Snyder) to establish a cinematic universe a la Marvel. Marvel had the plan for the big team up, but they did right by having individual directors handling movies and slowly working in the background characters, to lead to the big team up. They also managed to pick directors and writers to make them interesting.

DC just can't stop tripping all over itself.

It would of been interesting after Gotham. I feel like they could of done something with Nolan's Batman, but it is what it is. I would like to see something we haven't seen before. Maybe an older Batman with Nightwing or something like that. I would love to see a story exploring the Green Lanterns, maybe we see that after the Snyder Cut of Justice League.

I agree plus they need someone to be in overall charge like marvel has to have a little continuity and to fucking cast right. First meeting when someone said Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan that person should have been thrown out a window

We know the all female cast does not work. Why are we pushing it in comic book movies? The story and the character are not that interesting. Quinn is as interesting as Groot.

I think Margot is actually a really good Harley Quinn.

Birds of Prey isn’t a good movie to me, but I can appreciate it as someone who has a young daughter.

I had to rearrange my thinking on that movie and captain marvel when I realized unlike millennials and Gen Xers, the younger generation of comic book media fans are largely growing up with these movies and tv shows. Not the comic books.

It’s really not just dudes who like watching all this stuff.

Don’t get me wrong it predominantly is, but I still think having female superhero archetypes is a good thing.

Even if the movie is bad, I can see how the motivation wasn’t totally misplaced.
