Sean Payton

That all depends on what the Saints want for him in return.

Previous head coaching experience, success as a defensive coordinator at multiple stops, led his team to the SB and he is the top coaching candidate on the market.

He had NFL success as a head coach and has been a very successful assistant. He's only 51 so it isn't a retirement job like it was for Fox.

I liked McDaniels for similar reasons but Quinn has more NFL head coach success than McDaniels.

Doug Pederson would be a better choice by this criteria when you consider he checks a lot of those boxes as an offensive mind and his team answered the bell in the Super Bowl rather than epically collapsing like Quinn’s team did

I think Doug Pederson smells too much like Matt Nagy

Pederson literally put together a legit coaching staff, developed a young QB into an MVP candidate prior to him getting injured, then went on to out coach Bill Belichick and a Tom Brady lead Patriots team in the Super Bowl with a backup QB.. you might want to get your senses checked out bud because they are nothing alike.

Pederson can actually coach a team, put together a coaching staff, develop players, and win it all

I see we’ve reached the bargaining stage on coach.

I can’t tell if I’m in denial, anger or depression about the new Ryan Pace.

He's not Harbaugh but I think the Raiders deal has been done for a while unless Michigan beats their offer.

After reviewing the Dan Quinn resume....I don't hate the idea of him being hired. I'll be very curious who becomes the offensive coordinator...that will be very telling.

Quinn finished his tenure in Atlanta with a 43–42 (.506) regular season record, 3–2 (.600) playoff record and a 46–44 (.511) career record. Meh.

Not my top candidate, but they've interviewed far questionable candidates. His resume is stronger than 2018 Matt Nagy and 2013 Marc Trestman

So who should the Bears hire? Andy Reid isn't exactly available and Harbaugh seems to be out of reach for money reasons.

I don't really have a strong opinion on it and Quinn may be fine, but I don't find his resume all that impressive. Pederson's is stronger on paper. 42-37-1 (.531), 4-2 (.667) with 1 NFL Championship

They both had head coaching runs that got really good quickly and spiraled down just as quickly. Pederson did win the Super Bowl whereas Quinn lost though. However, Quinn has been a much more successful coordinator for whatever that is worth.

It's interesting though that the Jaguars seemed to pass on Pederson, or Pederson told them he wasn't interested.

Maybe he can be offensive coordinator since he doesn't appear to be getting a job this offseason.

Why not? Having an NFL job is better than no job at all.

Not really. It seems pretty clear he’s gonna sit this year out. If/when he comes back it will to be a ready made contender like Dallas

That's a pretty big stretch there.

There were like three people on here saying that Harbaugh was a realistic option. It's clear that it's the Raiders way in the lead for him with Michigan having a chance to pay him to stay.

Harbaugh is looney tunes. Could burn brightly but won't last more than a couple years before pissing everyone off.

I initially hated the idea of Harbaugh and have since commented that he’s the only guy that can salvage this thing after fatter Ryan Pace was hired, so I fit FF’s comment perfectly.
