In case you forgot that early season crackdown on guys hunting fouls for free throws, the NBA did too. Harden is shooting .9 FTs a game more than last year.

They can come up with any gimmick that they want but if the players aren't going to play hard then none of it matters.

If we can get one superstar to die in a helicopter crash every year we will always have a great allstar weekend

Cavs looking good at home vs. the Bucks

Mobley just threw it down over Giannis off a sick pass from Garland

They might be one of the few teams that can actually matchup with Milwaukee come playoff time.

i have to think the Bucks would outlast them in a 7 game series, but it would def be very fun

Does Portland even care anymore? Paul Allen must be spinning in his grave.

Lots of movement so far.

Bulls must be sleeping still.

I'm not sure what the Kings are doing.

g.s., hot out of the gate in utah...i believe they were up 16-4 inside of 4 minutes. golden state ends up losing by 26. ex-bull otto porter taking 35 foot 3s..no wonder. i don't understand the love for g.s. from nba network analysts.

looks like the lakers are done. there must be tons of turmoil in the locker room and their head coach doesn't appear able to coach in the hungarian league. watched westbrook against the clippers/knicks/bucks...he looks and plays like he's stoned. easy 12 foot bank shots, unguarded, he hits the shot clock. fans really turning on the hometown hero. lakers lost to portland last night, a portland that has already mailed in the season.

a.d. against a scrub center and the lakers lose.

I don't think the Lakers are done.

Yes, Russ is terrible. Very terrible. But that was to be expected. He was never going to be a fit with this team. But a trade for Reddish and Burks would make the Lakers decent again, and I think AD is going about half speed right now to stay healthy. They will make the playoffs and they could make some noise with either Golden State or Utah.

Where the Lakers really struggle defensively is against bigs. Davis is not a 5 and shouldn't be used as one. So it's left to a guy on 10 day contracts to be their best defender against centers in a pick and roll. The Lakers have no margin for error since their D is so bad, but they can play a great game offensively and win against the best teams. So they're not done yet and when the action slows down in the playoffs they'll have a shot.

If I were the Warriors, I wouldn't want to catch the Lakers. Klay Thompson had to have a monster game to beat them, Curry was tied up with Avery Bradley all night. Avery's not a great lateral defender but he's an expert on holding, hand checking without getting called. Predictably any time a Warriors big man decided to get aggressive, the Lakers folded but the Warriors were content to chuck from 3 all night and it almost got them beat.

Davis can still play well when he wants to. Still miscast as a 5 though.

Down the stretch the play of Lebron James hurt them. Turnovers and Smoked a point blank layup that I believed could have tied it or took the lead for them.

fuck that.

Giannis had 50 tonight.

50 pts and 14 rebounds.

This after sitting out last night with a "sore ankle" (it was just to rest after a long road trip)
