They Eagles 25th ranked passing offense and the ever getting worse Jalen Hurts makes think he's a perfect candidate for Da Bears

Because the Eagles offense was unstoppable last year... :? Another offense that didn't like to run the ball.

Not trying to be combative. Its right to be suspect of almost every move the Bears make.

If he can get Fields to Hurts 2021 level, that would be progress.

Hurts
61% completion rate. 3,144 yards 16 TDs 9 Ints He did play 3 more games. 15 to Fields 12.

Fields

58% completion rate 1,845 yards 7 TDS 10 Ints

black GM hiring all white coaches. What's Larry's opinion on that? I haven't heard in show in several years.

A smart pick by the Bears going with a guy used to having a QB that slipped in the draft and meh wide receivers. No use getting someone used to having good players.

Been reading on some potential OC candidates.

A guy from the GB staff sounds intriguing and the OC from the Rams who doesnt get to call plays currently...both those guys sound like better options than this guy from Philly

Yes, a coordinator from the Shanahan tree would be highly beneficial for Fields.

So we're bringing back all of Lovie's and Angelo's guys? I don't have an issue with Pep.

I wouldn't mind Pep. He coached Herbert in 2020 and Davis Mills had numbers in 2021 that Fields would have killed for.

What kind of offense did he run?

I believe he had success somewhere else. Calling plays isn't easy though.

Wasn't he the OC for Indy with Luck?

Yes and with him at Stanford.

His resume is better than I thought. Pep maybe a real good choice

Yep. Looks like he had coached Luck in college. The Colts fired him in the middle of the season too.

It's not easy, but an OC doesn't have to overcomplicate it either.
1. Balancing run / pass especially if you QB sucks should be obvious - see Nagy, Matt
2. If it's 3rd and 7....make sure you have multiple options at 7 yds or more. see Shoop, John

His resume isn't all that impressive.

Other than with Luck, it appears QB coach may be his ceiling.

He has experience in multiple places and worked with Luck and Herbert.

Whose resume is better that is being considered

He appears to be a great quarterback coach. I can't say the same when it comes to being an offensive coordinator.
